Many of Oxley’s pieces skilfully blend elements of surrealism and expressionism, infusing each piece with energy and emotion. His expressive brushwork is energetic and fluid, giving his paintings a sense of movement and spontaneity as his captivating portraits feature wild animals created through intense patterns and psychedelic colour. The traditional colours of the animal are overthrown by exciting vibrant shades, transforming it into an “ethereal, astral” being through his kaleidoscopic use of colour and form. The strong rainbow shades contrast beautifully with the white background.

Got it for, basically, half-off standard retail. At that price, it's a fine addition to the WWII library. Some interesting information displayed in a mostly entertaining way. I get that battle maps are always a challenge (maps are static - battles are dynamic). This does a fairly adequate job - better than most battle maps - though far from groundbreaking. item arrived well packed - no issues with binding (as some others seem to report). Though the book overall is a bit "warped" and several of the maps are mis-printed or mis-cut as to make them unusable. 3 bad out of 300 - not horrible - again at the price I paid. If the subject interest you - I'd suggest getting - but not a "must have".
