The lens arrangement in the Sony 16-55mm lens includes two AA (Advanced Aspherical) lenses, two aspherical lenses and three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements that are strategically placed to ensure optimum image quality. The AA and aspherical elements work to reduce optical aberrations to ensure edge-to-edge G Lens resolutions. The three ED glass elements help keep colour bleeding to an absolute minimum. Collectively, the lenses prevent optical defects and ensure images are consistently clear throughout the zoom range at any focusing distance.
