This 1754 map of the Cape of Good Hope by Jacques-Nicolas Bellin, titled Le Pays des Hottentots aux Environs du Cap de Bonne Espérance, is a refined Enlightenment-era depiction of the Cape Peninsula and surrounding interior, showing the expanding Dutch colonial settlement amid the lands of the Khoikhoi peoples. Extending from Table Bay and False Bay into the inland valleys and mountain ranges, the map marks Cape Town, VOC outposts, rivers, and pastoral regions, with ethnographic labels identifying groups such as the Cochoquas, Hessequas, and Goringhaiquas. Engraved with Bellin’s characteristic clarity and restraint, it balances geographic detail with an ethnographic dimension, reflecting European curiosity about African societies as much as cartographic precision. Based largely on Dutch VOC sources and earlier works by Valentijn and Kolbe, it was published in Abbé Prévost’s Histoire générale des voyages to accompany French travel narratives. Produced at a time when the Cape Colony was firmly established under the VOC, the map encapsulates the interplay of science, colonialism, and curiosity—illustrating both the spread of empirical French cartography and Europe’s growing impulse to document, classify, and ultimately control the peoples and landscapes of southern Africa.

This map is a reproduction of a historical map that is now in the public domain. It has been selected for its aesthetic appeal and historical interest and carefully restored and reproduced to preserve its original detail and character.  There may be marks and fold lines visible which add to the authentic look.  The map is printed on 230gsm heavyweight coated paper with a matte finish.  Most old maps were printed on uncoated rag or wood pulp papers and therefore a matte finish best represents the original map.

Very cute! My dog loves it!
You cannot beat the price of this donut dog toy and it includes two of them! I opened these up and my dog wanted to play with it right away. They are smallish, probably about the size of a regular donut. It might look a little small compared to my dog but he is 125lbs. These little donuts even have squeakers in them. Is your dog going to be able to rip these apart… yes. I never expected him to not be able to rip these up. My dog first likes to give it nib nibs and then he will eventually rip it up. You will not find a better dog toy for the price that these are selling for on Amazon. Plus it is adorable seeing your dog walking around with a donut in his mouth!

80lb Dog Goes Wild Over This Pulpo
My dog goes wild over this toy. The key difference between this and other octopus chew and rip toys is that this has a head horn, crinkle legs, and a squeaker in every limb. It makes it so much fun to play with him. After he destroys the sounds, he parades it around for his victory show.

Cute toy that definitely entertains the pups.
These are adorable toys. They make a bit more noise than I expected as they have the crackly ‘stuff’ in the legs. My mastiff made it a whole day without destroying it. This is the first toy that’s survived him for more than 10 minutes, so that’s an endorsement even if it sounds bad. They are a great price for the size. If I were to say I have a wish for them, it’s that the material that makes up their belly was more durable.
