How to care for a crystal glass ashtray? Wash the Crystal Cube in lukewarm water with a little dish soap after each use — crystal glass is non-porous and easy to clean. Dry immediately with a microfiber cloth to avoid streaks. Avoid thermal shocks (boiling water on cold glass) which can weaken the crystal.
Crystal glass vs ordinary glass: crystal glass contains a higher proportion of lead oxide or barium which increases its density and refractive index. It is this composition that gives the Crystal Cube its weight (1.5 kg), its exceptional transparency, and its ability to break down light into visible refractions — impossible to achieve with ordinary glass.
