This exquisite wrapping paper features an image of a masterpiece from the year 1760 called The Oval Fountain in the Gardens of the Villa d'Este, Tivoli by French artist, Hubert Robert. Robert traveled through Italy for over a decade and painted many landscapes and views from his journies. Interestingly, just painting regular landscapes wasn't as interesting to Robert. He specialized in what's known as "capricci", or fantasized landscape/architectural idealizations. He wanted to capture a specific effect versus get tiny details correct, and he became known very well as one of France's landscape artists and garden designers. Robert completed thousands of works throughout his lifetime.
