The Cisco Nexus 93180YC-FX Layer 3 Switch is a high-density, fixed Ethernet switch designed for modern data centers that demand speed, scale, and reliability. Built as part of the Nexus 9300-EX family, this model blends Cisco’s renowned NX-OS software with a purpose-built, purpose-driven hardware architecture. It delivers robust Layer 3 routing, scalable VXLAN/VPN support, and flexible port options to meet evolving network needs—from campus-to-core interconnects to traditional leaf-and-spine fabrics. With low latency, deep buffering, and high forwarding capacity, the 93180YC-FX is engineered to handle multi-tenant environments, large-scale virtualization, and dynamic workloads with ease. Whether you’re consolidating workloads, optimizing traffic patterns, or extending micro-segmentation across a data center, this switch provides a reliable foundation for future-ready networks.

  • Performance and scalability for modern data centers: Ultimate density and forwarding efficiency enable massive east-west traffic, large-scale virtual networks, and demanding traffic patterns. The 93180YC-FX is designed to keep latency low while delivering sustained throughput under load, making it ideal for scale-out deployments and high-traffic compute clusters.
  • Advanced Layer 3 routing and fabric capabilities: Built to support contemporary data-center routing with VRF, OSPF, BGP, and EVPN-VXLAN, this switch enables seamless network segmentation, traffic engineering, and overlay networks. It helps simplify complex topologies while preserving performance and determinism.
  • Programmability and automation at scale: NX-OS provides a rich set of automation tools, including RESTful APIs, NETCONF, Python scripting, and Ansible modules. This makes day-to-day operations, provisioning, and policy enforcement faster, more repeatable, and less error-prone.
  • Reliability, availability, and operational efficiency: Designed with redundant power and cooling options, hot-swappable components, and ISSU (in-service software upgrades), the 93180YC-FX minimizes downtime during maintenance. Built-in hardware and software resiliency features help sustain critical services even during fault conditions.
  • Security, QoS, and policy-driven networking: Expect robust security controls, segmentation, and quality-of-service mechanisms to prioritize latency-sensitive traffic. Centralized policy management and telemetry provide visibility, compliance, and consistent enforcement across large fabrics.

Technical Details of Cisco Nexus 93180YC-FX Layer 3 Switch

  • Fixed form factor with dense port options designed for multi-speed Ethernet, enabling flexible deployment in leaf-and-spine fabrics, collapsed cores, or edge aggregation.
  • Layer 3 routing architecture with advanced features such as VRF, OSPF, BGP, iBGP, and EVPN-VXLAN support for scalable, secure, and efficient traffic isolation and interconnects.
  • Programmability and automation through Cisco NX-OS, REST APIs, NETCONF, Python scripting, and compatible orchestration tools to streamline provisioning and operations.
  • High-availability design, including redundant power supplies and fans, hot-swappable components, and ISSU to minimize disruption during software updates or maintenance windows.

how to install Cisco Nexus 93180YC-FX Layer 3 Switch

Before installing, plan your topology according to your data-center design—whether you are deploying a leaf-and-spine fabric or integrating the switch into a collapsed core. Begin with a clean rack, proper airflow, and grounded power sources. Mount the switch securely, connect the power supplies, and attach management and data-plane interfaces as per your network diagram. Connect the management Ethernet interface to a dedicated out-of-band network or management VLAN to enable initial remote access. Use the console port to perform the initial bootstrap and create a secure administrator account. After that, enable essential features such as NX-OS routing, QoS, and security policies appropriate to your environment.

Load a baseline image that aligns with your organization’s software version and licensing, then perform a controlled in-service upgrade (ISSU) if updating. Configure the management IP address for out-of-band administration and verify reachability with a simple ping from a trusted management workstation. Configure basic route redistribution, VRFs, and interface policies that reflect your traffic patterns. Validate connectivity between leaf devices and spine peers, then enable VXLAN encapsulation if you plan to run an overlay network. Finally, establish monitoring and logging, set up SNMP and NetFlow (or sFlow where applicable), and apply your security posture with ACLs, private VLANs, and access-control policies. Document your baseline configuration for future audits and changes.

Vader's Second Marvel Series Is Good!
Format: Paperback
This is actually the start of a second Vader series. The first one began, along with the new Marvel main Star Wars series, right after the Death Star was destroyed. That Vader series birthed the new characters of Doctor Aphra, Triple Zero, BeeTee, and Cylo. Now, that series has come to an end. THIS NEW SERIES IS GOOD! It picks up the moment that Anakin Skywalker awakes in his armor at the end of Revenge of the Sith. It chronicles the first steps of Darth Vader. We learn something new about the Sith. They do not create their own lightsabers. They must take a saber from a Jedi and make it their own. The Sith blades are red and only red. Why? Palpatine explains that the kyber crystals that power the sabers are living things within the Force. This is backed up by the Rogue One novel (it was either that or Catalyst). The crystals are rock, but they are also alive. In the hands of a Sith, the new owner uses the Dark Side to push all his pain into the crystal--until the crystal bleeds and turns the color of the beam red. I just think that is all sorts of awesome!

Vader when he still is Anakin
Format: Paperback
This comic picks up right where Episode III left off. Like directly. There's the whole "Noooooooooo" thing and everything. I liked seeing Vader when he is new to being a Sith. It really is Anakin under there still. Throughout the comic, that Anakin begins to fall away. I liked the mix of prequel and original trilogy aesthetic. Seeing Vader alongside clone troopers was very cool. The Grand Inquisitor even makes a cameo! I read the Dark Horse comics that took place right after Order 66 so certain aspects of this comic remind me of those. In this comic, there are jedi who took the Barash Vow prior to the Purge, so they are still out and about in the galaxy. Vader takes this opportunity to take a lightsaber and make it bleed. I really enjoyed this first volume in a new, ongoing comic series. I am absolutely excited for volume two. I give this volume a 5/5.

The Lord Vader Treatment
Format: Kindle
Love this Darth perspective. It potentially fills in some gaps in the timeline in the beginning of his transition. Loved the humor and the art.

Wow!
Format: Kindle
I choose my rating because the art is so cool! Each frame brought a unique angle and showed the brilliance of color and texture! Also, I do have great memories of this movie. The surprise and fun it brought. Also Luke’s point of view was quite interesting. This was a remarkable read, however I skipped some parts more quickly than others. Enjoyed the story in this medium!

Whatever…
Format: Paperback
The worst in the series until they come out with a Rise of Skywalker one… heaven forbid! Still, decent art. Better than the actual movie. 😂
