• Ambience: This dial adjusts how "wet," or roomy, drums and cymbals sound in your virtual environment.
  
• Compression: Drums really come alive with a shot of compression. This single Comp knob eliminates the need to worry about ratios, thresholds, and knees — just twist until it sounds good.
  
• Effect: This control delivers a diverse range of expression with the twist of a knob.

Loaded with training tools
Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting, the DTX6K5-M's DTX-PRO module packs the tools to make you a better drummer. You get a sophisticated programmable metronome to rein in tricky fills, dozens of training songs to workshop grooves and pocket, and even more onboard training functions for sharpening your chops. Expression to the max
The snare is the centerpiece of any drum kit, electronic or otherwise. We are happy to report that the Yamaha DTX6K5-M cuts no corners in this department. Its 12-inch XP120L-M snare pad gives you dual-zone playability for capturing the details of both head strikes and rimshots. This pad and its trio of 10-inch, dual-zone tom pads all boast tunable 2-ply mesh construction, resulting in a more realistic rebound than rubber or silicone that can additionally be adjusted to the preferences of the performer. Yamaha's 7.5-inch KP90 kick tower completes the shell count with room for a double-kick pedal!

Chokeable multi-zone cymbals
Equally impressive are the DTX6K5-M's included 13-inch PCY135 crashes, the 13-inch RHH135 hi-hat, and the 15-inch PCY155 ride. Aside from the dual-zone hi-hat, these positional sensing-equipped cymbal pads feature tri-zone operability to give you distinct edge/bow/bell zones for lifelike cymbal response. Plus, you can choke the PCY135 after a crash by grabbing it anywhere on the edge of the pad. You can even mute a cymbal before striking it to create unique sonic textures. This creates an extra level of realism you don't get with many electronic drum kits.

Yamaha RS6 rack system
A solid kit requires a solid foundation. And that's why the Yamaha DTX6K5-M includes the RS6 rack stand for effortless setups and unflappable security. A right-hand-only wrap bar positions your second crash and module for maximum ergonomics. On the left-hand side, a void supplies plenty of open space for hi-hats, double pedals, and more.
