Desert by Design celebrates the interior worlds that exist in Earth’s most arid climes and, more importantly, the creative minds who inhabit themMarfa, Texas-based desert dwellers Molly Mandell and James Burke traveled the world to explore and photograph thirty incredible spaces. They made their way through the southwestern United States, to Mexico and Argentina, and to Morocco, Jordan, the Canary Islands, Rajasthan India, and even a micro-desert in New Zealand.
They visited high desert and low desert, urban desert and rural desert, sandy desert and scrubby desert. They photographed everything from iconic properties inhabited by Yves Saint Laurent, César Manrique, and Donald Judd to thoughtfully curated, centuries-old adobe structures and modern, groundbreaking ones, all the while interviewing the choreographers, hoteliers, sculptors, environmentalists, chefs, audio engineers, and preservationists who bring them to life.
This gorgeous coffee table book is an ode to these landscapes—their sounds, smells, flora, and fauna—filled with equal parts mystery and beauty and a glimpse into the projects and lives of those who have chosen to call them home.
Desert by Design—its genuine, beautiful, and unexpected approach—is not your average interiors book. From tips for cultivating the intimate and unpretentious environment that is synonymous with the desert to images that evoke mindful living, it is both an homage to this unique and dynamic climate—its most extraordinary places and memorable personalities—and a manual for adopting elements of this lifestyle, no matter our location.
Yes, this publication is for desert people, those who reside in it or who simply resonate with it. But it likewise exists for all of us who are seeking authentic design inspiration or courage to take the path less traveled, regardless of where we hang our hats.
Deserts are known to be sensitive ecosystems where adaptability and resilience become common currency, requiring humans to live within the environment rather than apart from it. The result is a people who are inspired by challenge and who constantly create and innovate.

Temp Sucks
Color: Black, Size: 12"x15" 5 in 1, Color: Black, Size: 12"x15" 5 in 1
I got the 8in 1 inset wad of the 5 in 1 that I had originally ordered. The seller contacted me about because it was the holidays they decided to send me the 8 in 1. I never had any trouble with the mug press before. My temp was 365 for 60 seconds and the burning never happened before. Then I put my cup in and my press started to smoke. The sublimation paper started turning brown and smelling bad. So I turned the temp and time down to 345 for 30 seconds. But when it was time to press it, the temperature went over 500 and started rising. So I turned it off and turned it back on but it did the same thing. I don’t know what to do. I can’t get a refund or even return it. This mug press sucks. Don’t waste your time!!!
%%Update%%
I can’t do this anymore. This was the replacement they sent me and it already burned my tumbler. I only used 330 for for 30 seconds and after the first turn the paper was brown. Then it started smoking. I can’t keep wasting tumblers on the mug press. My room smells like smoke. This never happened before. I used 6 tumblers in this machine before it started smoking. I’m going to buy another tumbler press. Not from here.
&&Update&&
They sent me an entirely new machine with attachments. I think the problem was the control box but now I have doubles of everything

First time buyer and I love it
Vibrant Colors and Smooth Printing – Great Sublimation Ink!
I’ve been using Hippo Sublimation Ink for a few months now, and I’m really impressed with the quality and performance. I paired it with my converted Epson EcoTank printer, and the setup was super easy. The bottles are clearly labeled, and the no-mess nozzle design makes refilling a breeze.
The color output is excellent—bright, bold, and true to what I see on my screen. Reds are vibrant, blacks are deep, and everything prints consistently without streaks or blotching. I’ve used this ink for sublimating on a variety of blanks like mugs, shirts, keychains, and tumblers, and every item has turned out beautifully.
Overall, Hippo has become my go-to sublimation ink. Great quality, reliable performance, and affordable for the results you get. Highly recommend it for hobbyists and small business

Great sublimation ink at a great price. Works great in my ET-8550.
I use this Hiipoo sublimation ink with my ET‑8550 for shirts, tumblers, and ceramic mugs, and it’s been great across all of them. The colors come out vibrant and consistent, and the ink flows well through the printer. Getting the color profile dialed in can be a little tricky, but that’s pretty much par for the course with any sublimation setup. Once everything is calibrated, the results look fantastic.
For the price, it’s an excellent value. Plenty of ink, reliable performance, and great results on a wide range of blanks. I’ll definitely keep buying it.
