How to Install Kingston FURY Renegade Pro 32GB DDR5 SDRAM Memory Module

  • Power down the server and unplug all power sources. Ground yourself to avoid static discharge.
  • Open the chassis and locate the memory slots. Identify any existing DIMMs you plan to replace or upgrade.
  • If replacing, carefully release the retaining clips on the memory slot and remove the existing RDIMM.
  • Align the RDIMM with the slot notch and insert it straight into the socket, ensuring the module sits evenly and the clips snap into place.
  • Seat the memory firmly but do not apply excessive force. Verify both retention clips are fully engaged to secure the module.
  • Repeat for additional modules if installing more than one 32GB RDIMM, ensuring proper channel configuration per your server’s memory guidelines.
  • Reassemble the chassis, reconnect power, and boot the server. Enter the system BIOS/UEFI to confirm recognized memory and enable any required profiles or XMP/OC settings.
  • Run a memory diagnostics tool or your server’s health checks to verify stability and performance before placing the system into production.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is Kingston FURY Renegade Pro 32GB DDR5 RDIMM? It is a server-class memory module featuring ECC protection and registered (buffered) design, optimized for reliability and stability in data center workloads.
  • Is this memory compatible with my server? This RDIMM DDR5 module is designed for servers and platforms that support ECC RAM and RDIMM modules. Check your server’s memory support documentation to confirm DDR5 RDIMM compatibility and capacity limits.
  • What workloads benefit most from 32GB RDIMM DDR5 memory? Virtualization, in-memory databases, large-scale caching, real-time analytics, and other memory-intensive enterprise tasks benefit from higher capacity, bandwidth, and ECC protection.

They work as they should
But they wouldn't work for what I needed. I purchased these but the Steam Deck to take stress off the top USB C port when charging, but they're a bit too small to fit. I can find other uses for them. They feel really well abs built to last. Cables and ports seem very secure when connected.

Nice to Have 90° Angle USB-C Adapters
The Herfair 180 Degree USB C Adapter is compact, simple to use, and fits snugly inside the USB C ports I've plugged it into. I got it to use with my Steam Deck, since the charging port comes out of the top of the device, and holding it with the cord sticking out of the top creates unneeded pressure. Something like the Nintendo Switch has the port coming out of the bottom, but then you can't comfortably rest the device in your lap. The benefit of using this adapter is that I'm now getting the best of both worlds. It extends just enough to let the cord freely travel down the back of the Deck, but it's compact enough that I can set the Deck down on a flat surface and the adapter doesn't touch the desk or tabletop. Even better, it fits right alongside the exhaust fan attachment that I use to keep the Deck cool. All in all, this adapter did exactly what I was hoping it would and fits so well that I can pretty much forget it's there unless I'm putting the Deck in its carrying case. I'm really glad to have this!
