The Black Box GigaBase2 Cat.5e Jack is built for dependable, enterprise-grade Ethernet connectivity with a focus on ease of use and long-term reliability. Designed for universal wiring, this RJ45 jack supports both T568A and T568B schemes, making it the ideal choice for mixed-installation environments, retrofits, and high-demand data centers. Its precision-engineered IDC contacts and superior contact plating deliver consistent performance under the rigors of daily network traffic, while thoughtful features such as a 110-style termination option and a dedicated stuffer cap help installers achieve quick, clean terminations with robust strain relief. Whether you’re outfitting a wall panel, a patch panel, or a workstation jack, this Cat.5e solution is designed to minimize downtime and maximize uptime, enabling fast deployments without sacrificing signal integrity.

  • Universal wiring compatibility: The GigaBase2 Cat.5e Jack is labeled for both T568A and T568B wiring schemes, enabling seamless terminations across diverse network environments. This versatility reduces the need for re-terminations and helps technicians complete projects quickly, even when upgrading existing installations or integrating with legacy systems.
  • High-quality IDC contacts: Inside, the IDC contacts are crafted from phosphor bronze and plated with tin to deliver durable, corrosion-resistant terminations. This combination ensures stable impedance, low resistance, and reliable signal transmission over time, which translates into fewer fault conditions and more consistent network performance.
  • Nose contacts with premium plating: Nose contacts feature 50-micron gold plating over a 100-micron nickel underplating. This multi-layer plating creates excellent wear resistance, lower contact resistance, and improved longevity in environments with frequent mating cycles, making it ideal for high-traffic networks and equipment racks common in data centers and enterprise workplaces.
  • Effortless terminations with 110 tooling: Terminations are designed to be completed with a standard 110 tool, streamlining installation and reducing hand fatigue. The precise tooling ensures clean, uniform terminations, which helps maintain consistent electrical performance across cables and jacks while shortening installation time for technicians.
  • Integrated strain-relief features: The termination retention stuffer cap provides reliable strain relief, protecting the connection from pull forces and cable movement. This thoughtful feature helps preserve long-term mechanical integrity, reduces the risk of intermittent faults, and supports a more rugged, professional installation in panels, racks, and wall-mount enclosures.

How to Install Black Box GigaBase2 Cat.5e Jack

Installing the Black Box GigaBase2 Cat.5e Jack is straightforward when you follow a few best-practice steps. The jack is engineered to accommodate universal wiring and a standard 110 termination process, so technicians can terminate quickly while maintaining signal integrity and mechanical robustness. Use the labeling on the jack to determine whether you’ll terminate for T568A or T568B, then prepare the cable and the panel or patch panel according to your project requirements.

  • Identify the wiring scheme (T568A or T568B) using the labeling on the jack and ensure your cable pairs are untwisted only to the minimum necessary length.
  • Strip the cable jacket to the correct length and separate the eight conductors, maintaining their order as required by the chosen scheme.
  • Insert each conductor into the corresponding IDC contact according to the T568A or T568B wiring pattern. Ensure that each conductor seats fully into its contact and that there is no exposed copper beyond the termination layer.
  • Terminate with a standard 110 punch-down tool, applying steady, even pressure until the termination seats flush. Inspect every conductor for proper seating and confirm there are no loose strands.
  • Engage the termination retention stuffer cap to provide strain relief and prevent cable movement from compromising the connection. If needed, secure the jack within the panel or housing to maintain consistent alignment and clamping force.
  • Perform a continuity and pair-tair check using a suitable network tester. Verify that all pairs are correctly terminated and that there are no miswires or shorts, ensuring the jack delivers robust performance for Ethernet traffic up to Cat 5e specifications.

Solid Toy NOT For Small Breeds
Color: Blue, Color: Blue
Bought this for my Pug puppy because he's always chewing on our shoes and dragging them outside and in every which direction. He doesn't really damage them, it's more of just a pain to chase him around and try and actually get the shoe from him because he thinks we're playing. So, I looked on Amazon for a shoe toy and found this. It has a decent rating of 4.2 stars currently and it looks pretty sturdy. Well, when I got it, I realized that it's VERY sturdy. In fact, it's too sturdy; at least for a smaller breed like a pug. I know in the title is says for medium to large dogs, but when I looked at the demensions I thought it would be fine for him. He played with it for a few minutes, but it's just too big and VERY heavy for him. I was actually surprised how heavy it was. So, I decided to weigh it on a scale I have and it came out to 0.83 pounds. I actually thought it would read heavier than that (at least a pound), but that's what the scale said and I did it twice to be sure. So, if you have a small dog like a Pug, I wouldn't recommend this. Definitely a great toy for a German Shepherd or something in that category because of how heavy and thick it is. I'm guessing, even with a large breed of dog, this toy is probably going to last a long time. There's also a hole in the top where you can put peanut butter (or some kind if dog friendly treat) inside, which is really cool. I tried that with him as well, but he just wasn't interested. He's more into the Kong plushies. Anyway, in all, it's a pretty good product. Just not for a small breed dog. I'm giving it 4 stars. As you can see from the photos I uploaded, it's a rather small toy, but it's very solid and chunky. I also took a few pictures with a Pilot G2 pen next to it to better judge the size. Would buy from this seller again though if they had other toys for smaller breed dogs. Thank you. 💟 Sarah 💟

Great toy!
Color: Grass Green, Size: Medium
We have a boxer and pit mix and he destroys everything. This toy however lasted the longest. He played with this every day and he plays very rough. But after 3 months I finally threw it out. It was still in tact but it was about to start falling apart. I will definitely buy another one.
