Affordable Yamaha APX600 Acoustic-electric Cutaway

The APX600 acoustic-electric guitar is another example of the high-quality craftsmanship and affordability that Yamaha is known for. In a nutshell, the Yamaha APX600 offers great sound, a smooth playing feel, and an eye-catching style at a great price. This thinline cutaway acoustic-electric features a built-in tuner and a System 65A preamp piezo pickup system, perfect for plugging in and playing coffeehouse gigs with natural acoustic sound that people will love. The spruce top helps the Yamaha APX600 pump out great tone even when you're playing unplugged. Plus, when paired with Yamaha's own Player Port app available on iOS and Android, the APX600 is the ideal tool for beginners looking to brush up on their playing with convenient access to tips, FAQs, and even a built-in automatic tuner. Acoustic players here at Irvine Art & Music love the Yamaha APX600 for its affordability, feature set, and top-notch tone.

Comfort and playability

The Yamaha APX600 is a thinline acoustic-electric guitar, which means it has a thinner profile that fits up close to your body. In other words, it's very easy and comfortable to play. However, a thinner body doesn't mean the Yamaha APX600 isn't thick on great sound. It features a spruce top and a rosewood fingerboard and bridge that combine to put out a superior, far-reaching tone. Yamaha uses locally sourced tonewoods for the neck and body in an effort to minimize waste and support sustainable harvesting of wood.

Piezo pickup system provides great amplified tone

When you do plug in your Yamaha APX600, you'll have a solid system to deliver great amplified tone. It has a piezo pickup system, which helps to give it a truly realistic, natural acoustic voice when it's pumping through a PA system. Another cool touch: you've got an onboard tuner, so you can always get your Yamaha APX600 right in tune.

Player Port app: the complete beginner's toolkit

With its wallet-friendly price point and extensive feature set, the APX600 is already a fantastic instrument for beginners or anyone else looking to add a top-notch acoustic to their arsenal. Yamaha is here to sweeten the pot even more, courtesy of their highly versatile Player Port app. Available for both iOS and Android devices, Player Port is a fantastic all-in-one resource for newcomers. Just download the app, register your Yamaha, and gain access to tips, tricks, articles, videos, an FAQ section, and more tools catered especially to the fledgling player. Player Port even comes stock with a free built-in tuner that doesn't require an instrument registration to use, making this incredible app all the more impressive.
