This filtration media is crafted from a blend of natural and synthetic ion-exchange resins, which efficiently eliminate harmful toxins from freshwater aquariums. NITRA-ZORB is completely phosphate-free and can be reused after proper recharging. Each pack contains a size 6 pouch. >> Begin by rinsing the pouch under running tap water. Place the pouch in the water flow path of your aquarium filter. For new aquariums or when ammonia or nitrite levels are detected: recharge every 5 days during the first month, then switch to a recharge every 2 weeks for the second month. For established aquariums: recharge every 2 weeks. When nitrate levels rise: recharge every 5 days until nitrate is lowered to 20ppm (mg/L) or below. Be sure to replace the pouch after 2 months. To recharge:

• Dissolve 4 tablespoons (80 g) of API AQUARIUM SALT in 8 oz. (240 ml) of warm tap water.
• Soak the pouch for 2 hours, then give it a light rinse in tap water.
• When not in use, keep the pouch stored in the recharging solution.
