Maitake - also known as Hen of the Woods - is a highly prized gourmet and functional mushroom with a rich, earthy flavor and distinctive layered fruiting bodies. It is one of the more challenging species to cultivate, making a clean, proven mother culture essential for success.

How to Use This Plate

Option 1 - Expand on agar: Transfer a wedge to a fresh MYA Agar Plate to multiply your culture or isolate sectors.

Option 2 - Create liquid culture: Use the plate to inoculate a liquid culture syringe for faster grain colonization at scale.

Option 3 - Inoculate grain spawn: Transfer directly to our Sterile Grain Bag with Injection Port to create your own grain spawn.

Store in the refrigerator at 2 - 6 degrees C. Use within 3 months of production date.
