Audio-Technica has taken its low-profile ES947C cardioid boundary microphone and given it an even smaller footprint, making it a great choice for installations with limited space or where a very clean, inconspicuous look is desired. The miniature ES947C/TB3 still gives you the same clear, highly intelligible audio of its larger sibling, mounting unobtrusively in tabletops, ceilings or panels for conferencing, recording, monitoring and other demanding sound pickup applications.

Protected by a rugged all-metal case with a two-layer steel mesh grille, the microphone’s cardioid polar pattern affords a 120° pickup angle, while its UniGuard® RFI-shielding technology provides outstanding rejection of radio frequency interference (RFI).

The ES947C/TB3 is equipped with a self-contained power module with a TB3M (mini-XLR) output connector, eliminating the need for an external power module. It also comes with a TA3F-to-XLR cable, allowing for installation with standard XLR inputs. The microphone is available in black (ES947C/TB3) and white (ES947WC/TB3), and comes with a pair of rubber isolators for optional mechanical isolation from the mounting surface.

Giving this review to help fellow buyers like me. It's a good addition to our small walk-in shower/bathroom, perfect size for the 24-inch space and there's a little bit more room on the side. Putting it together was fairly easy. I'm only giving it 4 stars because I wish there's more than just 2 screws to put on the wall though as I don't feel that it's really secure. I'm afraid that it could fall on someone's head. The other thing is because the doors of this cabinet is not even and there's no way to fix it. I like the rod section of it because that's where we hang our clothes when showering. It has the Ikea quality, if you know what I mean. Overall it's a good buy.

The spacing inside the cabinet for mounting to the wall does have enough space to place both screws into studs. However I did drill an additional hole in order to have my cabinet centered and on two studs for long term sturdiness. Overall worth more than the money I paid and looks great in the newly repainted bathroom.
