How to install Kingston FURY Renegade 64GB DDR4 SDRAM Memory Kit

Installing the Kingston FURY Renegade memory kit is straightforward and quick, designed to work with most modern motherboards that support DDR4 RAM. Follow these steps to ensure proper seating and optimal performance:

Step 1: Power down completely. Disconnect the power supply, unplug all cables, and ground yourself to discharge any static electricity. This prevents damage to delicate components.

Step 2: Open your computer case and locate the memory (DIMM) slots on the motherboard. If you’re upgrading, remove any old modules by gently pulling the locking latches at the ends of the slots.

Step 3: Determine the recommended install pattern for your motherboard. For dual-channel or quad-channel configurations, refer to the motherboard manual to identify the correct slots to populate first. Kingston FURY Renegade modules are identical, so you can install them in the slots specified by your guide.

Step 4: Align each memory module with the notch in the slot. The keying ensures the module can only insert one way. Apply even, firm pressure on both ends of the module until it seats securely and the latches snap into place.

Step 5: If you’re installing all four modules, install them in the recommended order to maximize multi-channel bandwidth and stability. Close the case, reconnect power, and boot the system.

Step 6: Enter the BIOS/UEFI during startup. Enable the XMP (Intel) or DOCP (AMD) profile to run at the rated speed of DDR4-3200 (PC4-25600). Save changes and reboot. Your system should recognize 64GB of RAM at CL16 with 1.35V.

Step 7: Once the operating system boots, verify the memory is detected correctly in the system information or memory monitoring tool. You can also run a quick stress and stability test to confirm reliable operation under load.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: What does 64GB (4 x 16GB) mean for this kit? A: It means you receive four 16GB DDR4 memory modules, totaling 64GB of system RAM. This configuration is ideal for heavy multitasking, large-scale content creation, and memory-intensive workloads.
  • Q: At what speed does this kit operate, and how do I ensure it runs at that speed? A: The kit operates at DDR4-3200 (PC4-25600). To achieve this speed, enable the XMP/DOCP profile in your motherboard BIOS. Some motherboards auto-detect, but enabling the profile guarantees the rated speed and timings.
  • Q: Is this kit suitable for gaming? A: Yes. While 64GB is more than what most games require, it provides ample headroom for modern titles, streaming, background applications, and mods. It also benefits workloads like high-resolution texture packs and simultaneous game capture or video editing.
  • Q: What type of memory is included in this kit? A: It is DDR4 SDRAM, non-ECC and unbuffered, with a 288-pin DIMM configuration. It’s designed for desktop PCs with standard DDR4 memory slots.

switched each outlet extension cord
This is a great extension cord. The plug is flat to the wall and offset so you can use 2 plugs together in one double wall outlet. The extension cord has a switch for each outlet to turn on or off each outlet. You can control all your lights and fans from one place, also has USB-C = 2each and USB-A = 2each. Cord is extra long to find a wall outlet, colored white to blend in.

Great Power Strip to save energy.
I bought this power strip for my coffee maker, frothier, and water purification system. All of these items are never in use all day long and pull electricity if remained plugged in. Which means they cost me money when not in use. This power strip makes it energy efficient to have appliances plugged in and ready to use while saving on energy costs. I used my label maker to identify which switch was which. I plugged in the appliances to the power strip and shut off all the switches. And it works great. When I want to turn on the coffee machine I flip the switch that says Coffee Machine and know that I am only turning on that one appliance not all. That is the problem with most power strips. You have a master switch that turns them all on. This power strip turns one on at a time. Or you can turn all on by flipping each switch or two on at the same time. You are in control. I liked it so much that I bought two more. One for the kitchen appliances (Foodsaver, hot water kettle, etc.) and one for the home office. Can turn on shredder, and other computer devices as I need to.

Solved Specific Need
Size: 10 Ft (Type B with Clamp), Color: White
Nice product which solved a problem of needing USB power clamped to a very thick work table. Most power strips with a clamp do not accommodate thick tables between 1.75" and 2" so I was happy to find this one. Successfully provides power to all my USB devices even a laptop (although charging is a bit slower compared to the OEM power adapter).

One minor bug
Size: 10 Ft (Type B with Clamp), Color: Black
I received this today and mounted it to the table I have next to my recliner. I plugged it into a remote control outlet so I can turn everything off at once. I used two of the AC outlets for the power recliner. I then plugged a USB powered fan into one of the USB-A ports. I plugged the power cable from a set of speakers positioned next to the headrest of the recliner into the other USB-A port. I used one of the USB C outlets to charge my tablet. When I hit the switch on the remote control to turn off power to the strip before going to bed I discovered a bug. The only way I can describe it is a cross port power bleed. After killing power to the strip my speakers were still playing, not well as they had static. I discovered by trial and error that if I unplugged my tablet the problem stopped. Apparently if you have something with a battery plugged into one of the USB ports and have something plugged into the other USB ports it pulls power from the device with the battery to try and power the other devices plugged in. Other than this one problem it seems to be just what I was looking for.
