The Allied Telesis IMC2000TP/SC Transceiver/Media Converter is a rugged, industrial-grade solution designed to keep critical devices powered and connected where distance and harsh environments challenge standard Ethernet deployments. Engineered for remote sites, IP phones, video cameras, and wireless access points can thrive more than 100 meters away from a PoE switch, backed by up to 60W of PoE power per IMC. This dual capability—power delivery and media conversion—simplifies network architecture by reducing hops, lowering installation costs, and enhancing reliability in industrial settings. If you need a resilient means to extend Ethernet connectivity while delivering reliable PoE to distant devices, the IMC2000TP/SC is a strategic choice within Allied Telesis’ 200/2000 Series.

  • Power remote devices up to 60W per IMC with PoE delivery, enabling IP phones, security cameras, and wireless APs to operate consistently without a nearby PoE switch. This generous budget supports multiple devices on a single link, improving uptime and reducing the need for additional power infrastructure on-site.
  • Integrated copper-to-fiber media conversion combines a copper TP Ethernet interface with an SC fiber port, allowing you to bridge short-range, high-speed copper links to longer-distance fiber networks. This enables long-haul deployments, preventing EMI and preserving signal integrity across industrial layouts.
  • Industrial-grade reliability designed for harsh environments, including elevated shock and vibration, dust, and wide temperature ranges. The IMC2000TP/SC is built to withstand demanding factory floors, outdoor enclosures, and remote facilities where standard consumer equipment would fail.
  • Plug-and-play installation with clear visibility—the device is designed for quick setup in field or data-center environments. Simple LED indicators provide at-a-glance status checks, while a streamlined form factor fits in compact enclosures or on a DIN rail for easy mounting.
  • Versatile applications and scalable network reach—perfect for powering IP phones, video surveillance, and wireless APs while expanding network reach through fiber links. The IMC2000TP/SC enables centralized management and future-proof growth as your network evolves.

Technical Details of Allied Telesis IMC2000TP/SC

  • PoE budget: up to 60W total for connected IEEE 802.3af/at devices, enabling robust power delivery to remote endpoints without requiring a separate power source at each device.
  • Interfaces: 1× RJ-45 copper port for Ethernet (TP) and 1× SC fiber optic port for long-range connectivity, enabling flexible topologies across campus, industrial sites, and remote installations.
  • Data rates: Supports 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet over copper with auto-negotiation and seamless integration into existing networks, paired with high-quality fiber transmission for extended reach.
  • Environmental robustness: Industrial-grade enclosure built to endure challenging environments, with a design that resists dust, vibration, and temperature fluctuations typical of manufacturing floors and outdoor enclosures.
  • Power and mounting: Suitable for industrial power configurations and mounting options, designed to operate reliably in a range of installation scenarios, from control rooms to field cabinets.
  • Compatibility and deployment: Works with Allied Telesis 200/2000 Series IMCs to create a modular, scalable networking edge that supports remote devices and fiber-fed links across multi-building campuses and remote sites.

How to install Allied Telesis IMC2000TP/SC

Begin by choosing a secure, ventilated installation location within your industrial space. Mount the IMC2000TP/SC in a suitable enclosure or on a DIN rail where it is protected from direct exposure to dust and moisture. Connect the RJ-45 copper port to your PoE-enabled device or to a PoE-capable switch that will supply the initial control power. Attach the SC fiber optic link to the remote location, ensuring the fiber type and connector correspond to your network design (SC for fiber, matching single-mode or multi-mode as required). Power the unit using the appropriate industrial power source and verify the device powers on correctly. Use the LED indicators to confirm link status, PoE activity, and power presence. Finally, test connectivity by validating data transmission from the PoE device back to the network core and ensuring the remote device receives stable power. For best results, match fiber distance and speed with your network plan, and consult the manual for LED patterns and fault isolation guidance. This straightforward installation minimizes downtime and reduces complexity in distributed deployments.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: What devices can be powered by the IMC2000TP/SC? A: IP phones, video cameras, wireless access points, and other PoE-enabled devices that fall within the IMC’s PoE budget and distance capabilities.
  • Q: What is the maximum PoE budget? A: Up to 60W total per IMC unit, allowing multiple devices to be powered from a single installation without local power at each endpoint.
  • Q: What environments is this suitable for? A: Industrial environments that demand rugged hardware, reliable power delivery, and long-distance Ethernet reach via fiber, including manufacturing floors, campuses, and outdoor enclosures.
  • Q: Do I need a separate PoE switch to use this IMC? A: An initial PoE source is typically required to power the IMC itself; the IMC then provides PoE to connected devices on the copper port. The fiber link extends network distance without sacrificing PoE capability on the remote device.
  • Q: Can I use this with both single-mode and multi-mode fiber? A: The SC fiber port supports standard deployments; verify fiber type and distance in your network design to ensure compatibility and performance.

amazing
Format: Kindle
Knot the Bride was a fantastic read! The characters were all amazing and well-developed. It was easy to like them all. Sophia, Luca, Nick, and Gavin were all perfect for each other. It was such a charming story that had me hooked the entire time. I did wish there were POVs from Luca, Nick, and Gavin but it was still an amazing book without it. I am excited to read the next book in the Willowside Omegaverse series! This is definitely a must-read for fans of omegaverse romance!. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

3 Star Read,
Format: Kindle
This book wasn't bad, but wasn't my cup of tea. It's highly disappointing because the storyline is so original. There is no real conflict or resolution, so the entire thing feels flat. As a lover of omegaverse books, I know there is a ton of variety out there, and ov is really up to the author. But this one is weird. Omegas have multiple scent glands all over their bodies and go into week long heats every month. Alphas have knots in the middle of their shaft instead of the base, and the knot doesn't always swell, no explanation of when or why. It doesn't engage at all when the mouth is in play. I also didn't enjoy the author's writing style. Each paragraph is only 1 or 2 sentences long, and the entire book reads very stacato. The conversations are stiff and unnatural feeling. Everything is very repetitive, both in word choice and in thought. The same thing is repeated 3 or 4 times over a single page, multiple times over. I ended up doing so much skimming. The first 50% of the book is all slow burn, and the last 50% is almost straight mediocre spice. This wouldn't have been all bad if the grammar and spelling errors didn't start at the exact same time. Tongue is repeatedly misspelled in the middle of the spice.

Cozy Omegaverse
Format: Kindle
This is the true definition of Cozy Omegaverse. LA wedding coordinator meets her pack at the location for a couple’s destination wedding. Low angst because they are scent matched high heat with heats and knots. Everything you love about this genre with very little anxiety. Simply a fun experience to read and a book I will comeback to when I’m in a slump. I simply love reading this book

Cute Omegaverse story
Format: Kindle
3.75 stars and 2 for spice. Adorable Omegaverse story about a wedding planner who has to go to a small town to plan a wedding for a movie star. While there, she meets her pack. This covers her struggles of not living there but trying to keep her relationship going with her 3 Alphas. It's a quick read and cute, so I recommend it for people who like light-hearted RH stories.

real good
Format: Kindle
This was a solid read for the ABO universe. The characters are great. The smut scenes were well written. And the town is so cute I want to go there. It didn’t have much character development it just felt like I was getting to the characters as they were getting to know each other.
