Pardoner is a San Francisco-based rock band and Uncontrollable Salvation is their debut album. The 45-minute LP pulls no punches, doubling down on the driving intensity of their earlier work and paying homage to heroes and contemporary experimenters alike (one could make a Sonic Youth and a Dinosaur Jr. Comparison and both would be apt). However, there's a simultaneous disaffection and technical prowess that makes the music distinctly 'Pardoner', placing them at the curious intersection of slacker-rock and punk, a space where songs are as fun as they are angst-ridden. The albums uncompromising 7-½ minute closing track somehow manages to juxtapose violent guitar riffs with an expansive, rock opera outro before abruptly concluding. Uncontrollable Salvation brims with energy, ideas, and the lurking anxiety of change, but the tension is no match for the right combination of distortion and cathartic drums.

BEST PILLOW EVER! - But you must follow these instructions

This is literally the BEST pillow I've ever slept on! It is SO COMFORTABLE, and I can't believe it was $40 for TWO PILLOWS! I slept on a similar, much more expensive name-brand pillow at my friend's house and thought, "I just HAVE to have this pillow!" When I found this one on Amazon for just $20 a pillow, I was so stoked! However, I was turned off by the "paint-like smell" when I slept on it right out of the box the first night. (I was too impatient to try it out!) Do NOT buy this pillow if you're in a hurry, because to get the paint smell to go away, you MUST follow these instructions: 1. Take the pillow out of its case and wash the case. 2. Leave the case off for TWO WEEKS (yes, you heard right!) to let the pillow out-gas. After waiting for two weeks, the smell will be GONE! Yes, I know it's a long time to wait, but it's WORTH IT! As far as the firmness of the pillow is concerned, I took about five big handfuls of the stuffing out and put it in a ZipLoc bag, but my husband liked the pillow as-is. I personally didn't want it so stuffed and wanted a bit "softer" feeling. I also sleep on my stomach sometimes, so taking out five handfuls of stuffing was perfect. I LOVE MY NEW PILLOW! (One thing I wish, however, is that the pillow came in a standard size. My husband and I have queen-size pillow cases, but our kids have standard-size pillow cases. Darn! I want THEM to have a chance to have such a comfy and inexpensive pillow too!)

The cold side really works. It's nice ;)

The soft side aspect of it is really awesome. We like the whole cold pillow thing but personally I feel like it keeps my head too high up so I wake up with a neck pain. But for someone who likes support, this would be a perfect option.

Love these pillows!

I’m a side and stomach sleeper. I’ve bought so many pillows recently trying to find one that doesn’t kill my neck or shoulder. I felt like I was looking for a unicorn. For some reason this pillow just works. It has a higher loft, which I prefer, but it’s also super squishy, which I also prefer. It somehow has the best of both worlds. They feel high quality, are adjustable in terms of density since you can remove as much filling as you want, they actually fill my pillowcases so they’re not flopping around the pillow, and they maintain their shape after a full night of sleeping on them, the price point for two pillows is just right, and best of all, they actually stay cool. I am a hot sleeper so that last point is worth the cost of entry all by itself. I have no neck or shoulder pain after getting a full night’s sleep on these pillows. The only negative is the initial smell of the pillows. It’s pretty strong, but I’m sure this will lessen over time.
