Equipped with a tubeless and hookless rim profile, this wheelset delivers a seamless tire interface and a significant reduction in weight. It offers the aerodynamic advantages of deep-section rims while maintaining a weight typically associated with rims 20mm shallower.
With an internal rim width of 23mm, the 858 NSW is optimized for wider tires run at lower pressures, which reduces rolling resistance. This is a core principle of TSE, designed to address and overcome the four primary barriers to speed: wind resistance, gravity, rolling resistance, and vibration losses.
The 858 NSW features an undulating rim depth of 82mm to 85mm and Zipp’s patented Sawtooth profile, which enhances aerodynamic efficiency and crosswind stability. Constructed using Carbon Internal Reinforcement (CiR), the rim is 10% lighter while maintaining the same strength as previous iterations.
Engineered for pure speed, this wheelset is ideal for triathletes, time trial specialists, and any athlete seeking maximum performance. While optimized for tubeless tires, it also accommodates tubeless-ready tires with tubes. The 858 NSW performs best with a 28mm tire, offering a smoother, faster ride that helps conserve energy for the run leg in triathlons.
Disc brakes provide consistent speed modulation and powerful braking in all weather conditions. At the heart of the 858 NSW is the Cognition V2 hubset, featuring the Axial Clutch V2 mechanism, which ensures quicker engagement, lower friction, and enhanced durability.
