In this collection of songs, we play with odd meters and tempo shifts, and the emotional interest lies partly in improvised orchestration, while staying true to a song form and narrative. Although we recorded with a typical jazz quartet - upright bass, grand piano, and drums - we also added layered guitar, synths, and strings to the arrangements."
