Following his seminal release Sand in 1977, Swedish experimental composer Ragnar Grippe worked on various art and performance commissions, often returning to Stockholm during the summer months to focus his efforts on his compositional practice. It was there at the famed EMS Studios where he began employing the Buchla synthesizer and the facilities multi-tracking capabilities as new instruments to map his mining of sound and movement.During the late 1970's, Grippe formed a creative collaboration with choreographer Susan Buirge, specifically writing compositions for her works "Restes" and "Tamis", thus pushing Grippe to start working in a more intricate studio environment. In 1980, Grippe holed up at EMS Studios with the Buchla synthesizer and emerged with a new commission for Susan Buirge later formally titled Symphonic Songs and used in her avant-garde theater piece "Ci-Déla" which debuted in Paris in 1981. Symphonic Songs showcased Grippe's sound au courant, pushing dense against sparse, calm into cacophonous, using each track as it's own intersecting plane. Since it's live theater debut over 37 years ago, Dais Records releases for the first time Symphonic Songs, one of Grippe's most ambitious compositions to date.

Too expensive, tastes fine
I was worried based on reviews, but I think these taste fine! I don't eat a lot of candy anyway, but sometimes I just need 1-2 pieces to satisfy a sweet/sour craving. These are great since I'm on the Keto diet. They aren't overly sour for sure, but they still have some sourness to them. There's a bit of an aftertaste since they are made with sugar substitutes, but nothing terrible. My only complaint is the price. Way too expensive for the amount you get.

Not bad
The cherry tastes too much like cherry cough syrup. The grape fruit and apple aren't bad. For a no sugar candy for diabetics when you're having a craving, not bad.

I Wouldn’t Call Them Sour
Did I enjoy this candy? Absolutely. Did it meet my expectations? No. I have anxiety. I’ve heard about the technique of using a sour candy to distract from an anxiety attack. Well, I also have insulin resistance so I have been looking for a sugar-free sour candy which it turns out is a tall order. Unfortunately, I was disappointed when I tasted these because they really don’t taste sour. While I enjoy the flavors (especially grapefruit) they aren’t sour. A big bummer. I do think the nutrition for this candy is awesome, though. They have a good amount of fiber and are made with xylitol which is great for oral health. Overall, I think they are pricey and not necessarily worth the cost considering they are not anything special outside of the nutritional values. Bummer!
