KOPIS is a captivating two-player abstract strategy game designed to test your tactical skills and territorial control, your ability to think ahead and to strategise accordingly, played out in sharply focused game durations of approximately 15 minutes.

With clean yet strategic mechanics, it pits two factions against each other in duels where every move matters. Its easy-to-learn rules (of which we have more than one version of playing options) combined with deep tactical gameplay make it an ideal choice for fans of strategy and mind games.

In Kopis you have to defend your strongholds, whilst pushing back the incursions from enemy factions. You find yourselves in a battle to secure your strongholds and surrounding settlements and thus provide safe havens to grow and thrive. The warring factions have to avoid being in close proximity to enemy strongholds that can cause danger and death to those around them - keeping in mind that those strongholds can be moved - whilst they aim to remain close to their own, to ensure prosperous and flourishing territories. Scoring is dynamic, shifting from move to move between the two factions based upon what territory they control at that moment, in relation to their proximity to the strongholds, both friendly and hostile.

In our ancient gaming Empire of Thargos it was a game played out between resting warriors looking to stretch the mind instead of the sword arm, a jug of ale in hand and the friendly rivalry raucously made known to all nearby. Flickering light from the oil lamps illuminated proceedings, the occasional rowdy shove bumping into the playing tables, but nothing broke the sharp mind's focus. Victory was required...
