　　天生的故事人，波蘭最優秀的報導文學作家之一。第一位訪問到翁山蘇姬的西方媒體人。畢業於華沙大學新聞系與政治學系，在業內素以簡潔靈動的語言運用而聞名。他關於歐盟非法移民的報導曾獲「歐洲議會新聞獎」，而他報導土耳其「榮譽殺人」現象的《來自杏城的刺客》則榮獲波蘭最重要的文學獎「尼刻獎」提名。
 
　　沙博爾夫斯基長期關注威權轉型與人權議題，他描繪中東歐國家從共產鐵幕轉型到民主自由的名著《跳舞的熊》在全球激起廣泛迴響，並獲評論家譽為「宛如米蘭．昆德拉版本的《與狼共舞》」。
 
　　2021年，沙博爾夫斯基再以《獨裁者的廚師》探討自由與獨裁的課題。他用獨裁者身邊的廚師為視角，以飲食與餵養作喻，剖析獨裁者的為人與權力的誘惑。該書亦獲世界美食家圖書獎。
