In photographing chimpanzees he notes: "I like the emotional side of the chimp and how similar they are to humans. That’s something I try to get in my work, because people never got to know me as a child, they just heard I had autism and ran a mile. I’m trying to do the same with animals, to get people to look deeper than just what they look like. Trying to get the emotional connection in my work is important.”
