Designed for demanding industrial environments, the Eaton Tripp Lite Series 5-Port Unmanaged Industrial Ethernet Switch delivers reliable, plug-and-play networking for factories, warehouses, and remote monitoring stations. This ruggedized, compact switch provides five RJ-45 ports that support 10/100 Mbps Ethernet, making it ideal for hard-walled factory floors, outdoor enclosures, and areas where vibration, dust, and temperature can challenge standard IT gear. With a wide operating temperature range, versatile mounting options, and TAA compliance, this switch seamlessly integrates into mission-critical networks without complex configuration. Whether you’re consolidating legacy equipment or extending a robust industrial backbone, this unmanaged switch offers simple deployment, durable performance, and long-term reliability.

  • Rugged industrial-grade design for harsh environments: Built with a solid metal enclosure and rugged construction, this 5-port unmanaged switch stands up to dust, vibration, and debris common in manufacturing settings. The enclosure protects the internal electronics from physical shocks and ensures dependable performance in outdoor cabinets, on factory floors, or near heavy machinery. Its compact footprint is ideal for panel or cabinet installations where space is at a premium, while its sturdy construction reduces maintenance needs and downtime in production lines.
  • 5-port unmanaged Ethernet with 10/100 Mbps performance: Each of the five RJ-45 ports supports auto-negotiation for seamless speed matching with connected devices, delivering reliable 10/100 Mbps Ethernet connectivity for control systems, sensors, actuators, and human‑machine interfaces. The unmanaged design means you can drop this switch into an existing network without complex configuration, enabling quick, cost-effective expansion of Ethernet segments in industrial settings.
  • Wide operating temperature range for extreme conditions: Engineered for environments that experience wide temperature fluctuations, the switch operates across a broad temperature spectrum (-40°C to 75°C). This capability makes it suitable for outdoor enclosures, warehouse docks, and production lines where ambient conditions can vary dramatically. In addition to temperature tolerance, the rugged design helps maintain stable link performance even when surrounding equipment generates electrical noise and mechanical vibration.
  • Versatile mounting: DIN rail and wall-mount options: The device is designed for flexible installation, supporting both DIN rail mounting for control panels and wall-mounting for more permanent enclosures. This adaptability makes it easy to integrate into existing electrical layouts or new builds, preserving space and simplifying cable management. The mounting versatility ensures the switch can be placed where links are most accessible and where network reliability is paramount for critical control systems.
  • Simple, plug-and-play operation with robust reliability: As an unmanaged switch, there is no software to configure and no ongoing maintenance requirements. The auto-sensing ports simplify deployment with automatic MDI/MDIX and auto-negotiation to ensure devices connect and communicate without manual tuning. This simplicity is especially valuable in remote sites or facilities with limited IT staff, where quick installation and steady uptime are priorities. The combination of a compact footprint, rugged construction, and deterministic performance provides a dependable backbone for industrial Ethernet deployments.

How to install Eaton Tripp Lite Series 5-Port Unmanaged Industrial Ethernet Switch

Step 1: Plan the placement of the switch in a protected enclosure or cabinet where it has adequate airflow and minimal exposure to direct moisture or chemical vapors. Identify five Ethernet endpoints that will connect to the switch and determine whether DIN rail or wall mounting best suits your panel design.

Step 2: Mount the switch using the preferred method. If you are using a DIN rail, snap the unit onto the rail in the designated area, ensuring full engagement and secure fastening. For wall-mount installations, attach the mounting brackets or screws provided with the device, verifying that the unit is firmly seated and level to prevent cable strain.

Step 3: Route network cables neatly to the five ports and avoid tight bends or kinks that could degrade signal integrity. Label cables if necessary to simplify troubleshooting and future expansions. Since this is an unmanaged switch, the ports operate with plug-and-play simplicity, so you don’t need to configure VLANs or QoS settings for basic connectivity.

Step 4: Connect a suitable power source per the enclosure’s design and the device’s power requirements. Ensure that power is reliable and that connections are secure to prevent intermittent link loss. Once powered, the switch will begin forwarding Ethernet frames between connected devices, enabling seamless communication across your industrial network.

Step 5: Verify link activity and data flow. Confirm that each connected device negotiates the correct speed and duplex setting and that data passes consistently between sensors, actuators, PLCs, and control devices. If a device does not show a link, check cable integrity, port status, and ensure that all devices are powered. Because the unit is unmanaged, you should see immediate connectivity without any configuration steps.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: Do I need to configure this switch for basic use?

A: No configuration is required. This is an unmanaged switch with plug-and-play operation. Ports automatically negotiate speed and duplex with connected devices, and auto-MDIX eliminates the need to mirror cable types (straight-through vs. crossover) for standard Ethernet connections.

  • Q: What environments is this switch suitable for?

A: It is designed for industrial environments with rugged conditions, including factories, warehouses, outdoor equipment enclosures, and other settings where temperature, dust, and vibration can challenge consumer-grade networking gear. Its wide operating temperature and rugged housing make it suitable for harsh production floors and remote installations.

  • Q: How does mounting flexibility benefit deployment?

A: The ability to mount on a DIN rail or wall streamlines integration into existing panels and enclosures. This flexibility helps optimize cable management, reduces installation time, and allows for efficient deployment across multiple sites with varying enclosure configurations.

  • Q: Is this switch suitable for critical control applications?

A: Yes, for basic Ethernet connectivity in unmanaged form. It provides reliable 10/100 Mbps links essential for legacy equipment, PLCs, sensors, and SCADA components. For advanced features such as VLANs or QoS, consider a managed switch model if your application requires traffic segmentation or prioritization.

  • Q: What procurement considerations apply?

A: The device is TAA compliant, which can simplify procurement for U.S. federal, state, and local government projects or other organizations requiring government-approved products. When selecting the switch, verify compatibility with your network’s power supply and enclosure dimensions to ensure a clean fit and reliable operation.

I’m a little disappointed.
Format: Kindle
I usually like Jillian West’s books but this one was missing a lot for me. The pregnancy didn’t come across as real. She’s on her feet for 12 hour days but is perfectly healthy at 8 months pregnant? Yet the week she moves in all of a sudden she’s not? She is planning on actually running during one of the plot buildups. But at 8 months pregnant that’s incredibly hard to do. The lack of breathing ability and lung space, the change in body center, mass, and gravity. All of it prohibits running, unless you’re an athlete this didn’t come off as at all realistic. I didn’t feel any connection with the alphas. There wasn’t any emotional connection. It could be because of the tense it was written in. But I didn’t get any deep feelings out of this. It came across as checking off boxes. Even the spicy scenes weren’t really believable for me. I wanted to see them fall for her, and it just kind of all fizzled. Even Bishop. One thing I did really like was the ending. I did not see it coming and I’m interested in reading book two because of it. But on the whole this book was mostly disappointing for me.

Vale is an 8 month pregnant omega working as a waitress at a strip club and a cam girl. She starts to get very creepy vibes from a regular at the club, and her baby daddy ghosted her. She has had an online relationship with a man named Bishop through her cam girl status. One night, bishop was paying to watch her sleep and ansthe creepy regular Andrew break in and watch her sleep he tells vale to come to him at his business now. She flees and finds herself at a large security company with some.hot of alphas who are there to help her. This imegaverse is a little different than I have read, but I am thoroughly enjoying it. Vale is not a traditional omega she was raised by a single beta mom, and the alphas are not normal alphas they have never really loved pack life. But they are ruthless mercenaries. They need her, and she needs them. I love the aspect of the stalker and now the plot twists at the end, so so good. Sometimes, it seemed a little slow and stale mated, but since this a duet, I think It was just her starting to have Vale get to know her alpha suitors. Cliffhanger for sure with this one.

That ending 😫
Format: Kindle
I fell into a false sense of security and really thought this was gearing towards a happy ending. Then I realized there’s no work they don’t punish Andrew. I really liked Vale’s character. I don’t normally read books with pregnancy but going into this knowing she was pregnant made it more enjoyable for me. I loved Bishops devotion to her and her happiness. I also loved that Holt and Mercy couldn’t fight their attraction to her. I love scent matches so very much. I’m so curious to see how this duet will end up. And I need to pay more attention and notice that a book I’m starting is a duet to begin with lol
