From the golden grevillias and wattles, through to the bright pinks and oranges of the bromeliads to the deep purples of our tropical vines such as morning glory. This painting is part of my floral expressionism style I have been exploring. The dark background is a nod to my dutch heritage and the golden age botanical paintings, such a favourite period of flower painting in art history. I don't think I will ever tire of painting, drawing and looking at blooms.
