Respect SecondsThe Spyderco Respect is an absolute beast of a knife, especially one that carries the name of the legendary Jim Bowie. This model was discontinued in 2024 after two production batches, which means there are a very finite amount of them in existence. These factory seconds may be the very last opportunity to get one of these legendary blades featuring an entire 0. 3 inch thick CPM 154 blade, which is over 2x as thick as the Shaman's 0. 145" blade stock!
The Spyderco Respect is an absolute beast of a knife, especially one that carries the name of the legendary Jim Bowie. This model was discontinued in 2024 after two production batches, which means there are a very finite amount of them in existence. These factory seconds may be the very last opportunity to get one of these legendary blades featuring an entire 0.3 inch thick CPM-154 blade, which is over 2x as thick as the Shaman's 0.145" blade stock! Despite the thick stock, you'll be shocked how nice the grind is. The edge gets surprisingly thin and like every Spyderco, the edge is quite sharp. The handle is also proportionally thick and quite comfortable, made from palm-filling smooth contoured G10. While hefty overall, it doesn't feel overly heavy either. For now much material and precision craftsmanship that goes into producing a knife like this, I also feel like the pricing is quite fair.
Overall, the Respect is truly one of the finest blades ever produced by Spyderco. This Sal Glesser-designed piece will be a cherished collectible for years to come. As far as I could tell, these are near flawless except for a couple minor scratches as shown in the pictures. As with every fixed blade factory second, it does not come with a sheath, but it shouldn't be too difficult to find an aftermarket sheath maker with options that fit.
