High-Performance 24V to 12V Voltage Reduction for Extreme Environments
The Victron 24V to 12V Orion 24/12-100A Non-Isolated IP67 DC-DC Converter provides a highly resilient solution for stepping down high-voltage battery banks to run standard 12V equipment. Designed specifically for demanding marine, automotive, and industrial applications, this robust 24V to 12V converter 100A ensures your sensitive electronics receive a stable, clean power supply. Whether you need a heavy-duty 12V voltage regulator for car and commercial vehicle applications or a reliable step-down unit for an off-grid 24V solar system, this converter delivers exceptional continuous power up to 1200W.
Fully Encapsulated for Unmatched Reliability
Standard DC-DC converters often fail in harsh environments due to moisture ingress, dust, and vibration. The Orion IP67 24/12-100 eliminates these risks entirely. It is completely encapsulated in a durable cast aluminium casing, with all internal electronics precision-moulded in resin. This makes the unit fully waterproof, shockproof, and ignition-protected. It is uniquely engineered to withstand prolonged exposure to water, oil, dirt, and severe mechanical vibration, ensuring uninterrupted performance in engine rooms, bilges, or external vehicle mounts.
Advanced Thermal Management and 96% Efficiency
Efficiency is critical in battery-based systems. By achieving an outstanding 96% conversion efficiency, the Victron IP67 converter dramatically reduces energy waste and heat generation. Instead of relying on mechanical cooling fans that are prone to failure, the unit utilizes passive cooling through its integrated aluminium heatsink fins. This fanless design not only increases the lifespan of the equipment but also allows it to operate safely in ambient temperatures ranging from freezing cold up to extreme heat, maintaining optimal output when you need it most.
Key Features
- IP67 Waterproof and Dustproof: Fully encapsulated resin design protects against all environmental hazards.
- High Efficiency 96% Conversion: Minimizes power loss and reduces battery drain.
- Wide Input Voltage Range: Accepts 18V to 35V DC input, providing stable 12V output even during system voltage fluctuations.
- Heavy-Duty Connections: Equipped with M6 bolt terminals for secure, high-current wiring.
- Comprehensive Protection: Features short circuit proofing and overload protection with an automatic hiccup-mode recovery.
Versatile Applications and System Protection
This unit goes beyond standard voltage conversion. It actively protects your 12V circuits by smoothing out harmful voltage drops and surges originating from the 24V supply line, acting as an industrial-grade voltage regulator. It is an essential component for marine vessels with 24V alternators needing to run 12V navigation equipment, or heavy-duty 4WDs and trucks running dual-voltage setups. While commonly searched as a 100A dc to dc charger due to its high current rating, its primary function is delivering a massive 100 amps of continuous, precisely regulated 12V power to heavy loads without missing a beat.
Simplified Installation and Integration
Wiring high-capacity DC systems requires secure, low-resistance connections to prevent voltage drop and localized heating. The Orion IP67 DC-DC converter addresses this by featuring robust M6 bolt terminals for both input and output connections. This allows installers to utilize heavy-duty copper cable and properly crimped lugs to safely manage the 100A continuous output. Furthermore, the compact footprint and flexible mounting orientations make it straightforward to install in confined spaces, from crowded boat consoles to the chassis of industrial machinery. Please note that while the unit is highly protected against overloads, an external fuse or circuit breaker is required to protect against reverse polarity connections.
Upgrade Your Power System
Secure your critical electronics with a power regulator built to outlast the conditions. Equip your marine vessel, commercial vehicle, or remote off-grid setup with the Victron 24V to 12V Orion 100A IP67 DC-DC Converter today for reliable, uninterrupted power delivery.
