Members, spouses, and minor children receive unlimited free admission to the GHS Research Center Reading Room in Savannah, a 20% discount on all GHS merchandise, discounts on photocopies, research fees, and photograph orders made through GHS, and free or discounted admission to the many programs and activities of the Society, including special exhibits, demonstrations, lectures and presentations. Members also receive a complimentary annual subscription to all GHS publications, including the Georgia Historical Quarterly and Georgia History Today, the Society’s news magazine.

In addition, members receive a complimentary set of GHS notecards or postcards, and a complimentary historic print from the Society’s collection.

Members at the James Edward Oglethorpe level receive priority reservations for six research appointments per fiscal year at the Research Center to access archival material and rare books, two free guest admissions per visit, and a one-year gift membership to a household or individual of their choice. Members receive priority seating at Georgia Historical Society annual events and acknowledgement in the Society’s news magazine and in the Annual Report.

Members also receive a behind-the-scenes tour of the Research Center facility and an exclusive invitation to unique day or overnight trip.
