Overview

Precellys® Evolution Touch is the universal tissue homogenizer gathering high flexibility and high efficiency for either routine or R&D projects.

The Precellys® Evolution Touch offers optimal robustness, safety, efficiency and flexibility. Based on 15 years of sample preparation expertise, the Precellys® Evolution Touch is a concentrate of know-how for all lab environments including BSL3 labs.

The instrument’s unique figure-8 multi-directional motion provides the same high level of energy and homogenization efficiency to all the tubes.

The Precellys® Evolution Touch has the capability to process 6 different sizes of tubes and up to 24 tubes simultaneously for the 0.5mL/2mL format. Its flexibility and high efficiency give users the ability to grind, homogenize or lyse any kind of sample whether it is hard or soft, or whatever its type is (animal, vegetal, insect, micro-organism) in less than 2 minutes. It is the perfect solution for either routine applications or specific R&D projects.

It offers a complete range of accessories to meet all homogenization needs, from the smallest samples with the 96WP to the largest with the 50mL tubes and the hardest samples with the dedicated metal tubes.

Easy to use with its new intuitive touchscreen interface, designed to be used with gloves, researchers can easily set up the Precellys Evolution Touch. The Precellys Evolution Touch puts the power of homogenization into the hands of researchers and scientists.

While the Precellys Evolution Touch includes a 1-year warranty, an extended 2-year or 3-year warranty may be purchased (extended warranty must be purchased at the time the Precellys Evolution Touch is purchased).  For each additional year of warranty, a maintenance kit is provided which includes 2 vacuum joints, 1 anti-rotation tubing kit, and 1 containment seal.

    FAQ

What are the primary differences between the Precellys 24 and the Precellys Evolution?

    There are three main differences:

    1. Power. The Precellys Evolution has almost 50% higher max RPM than the Precellys 24.
    2. Flexibility with regards to sample size. The Precellys 24 holds 24x 2ml tubes. The Precellys Evolution also comes with an adapter that does the same, but there are additional, optional adapters that hold either 12x 7 ml tubes or 6x 15 ml tubes, allowing processing of larger samples.
    3. If you're interested in keeping samples cool, the Cryolys cooling unit is much better for the Precellys Evolution. The Cryolys for the Precellys 24 is a standalone item which takes up about an equivalent amount of bench space to the Precellys 24 and requires a compressed air connection (or house pressurized air). The Cryolys for the Precellys Evolution is a relatively small "cap"-like device which sits on top of the Precellys Evolution so it doesn't take up any additional bench space and it does not require an air hookup.

... and of course there's the cost difference.

What are the safety features of the Precellys Evolution which make it suitable for BSL-3 labs?

    1. Top and pressure alarm: If the lid is not securely closed or the blocking plate is not placed correctly on the tube holder to lock the samples in place, the unit will not start the run.
    2. Compatibility with vaporized hydrogen peroxide decontamination (see picture below). Vaporized H2O2 can be used to decontaminate the unit in case of tube breakage.
    3. Containment seal which isolates the homogenization chamber from both the external environment and the internal mechanical parts.

    Absolutely top-knotch
    Format: Kindle
9.5/10 This is the pinnacle of Star Wars comic books. A great way to tie in their Indiana Jones character in Aphra and the mainline series to tell an amazing story. Only complaint is a couple of the issues artwork I was not a fan of. I like the more realistic look. Just make sure you read Aphra book 1 and the previous SW books to understand it better. Aphra book 1 being more important

    Star Wars embraces fantasy
    Format: Paperback
This is Star Wars at its' strangest, and that's a very good thing. Luke and co. fighting through what could easily be Dracula's castle is a truly unique experience. I don't wish to say more for fear of spoilers. As a note though you will get more out of this if you've been following the Star Wars and Dr. Aphra comics. However you can get by without that knowledge as well.

    Gothic Star Wars
    Format: Paperback
This trade paperback collects all the issues for the Screaming Citadel story spread over several titles, including the main stay Star Wars series and the Dr Aphra book. As one might expect from a story spread over different titles with different artists and writers, the presentation varies. The art is all over the place. In the Marco Checchetto-drawn initial issue, everyone’s favorite amoral artifact hunter, Dr Aphra, is a striking space vixen. But in the following issues she’s hardly recognizable as the same character--mousier, if still menacing, in her trademark Russian tanker’s hat. To a lesser degree, the same is true for the other characters, including the main SW group. It’s understandable, but a bit disconcerting. The story centers on Dr Aphra, who, in need of a Jedi for one of her typically nefarious purposes, recruits Luke into her scheme. Unfortunately for Aphra, she’s up against a more ruthless foe in the harlequin-looking vampire-like Queen of the Screaming Citadel. Before long, the rest of the group has to show up to rescue them. It’s a gothic story, set in scary castle—not the usual Star Wars fare. There are some good points. Dr Aphra’s almost sociopathic outlook is always good for a few choice lines, the “murderous machines” Bee Tee and Triple Zero are on hand for their own gruesome commentary and some of the Queens hench-people, while not given much to do, are interestingly designed. But overall, the horror movies plotline didn’t seem much like Star Wars to me. Recommended for those who enjoy that type of story, or completists.

Luke and Doctor Aphra team up!
    Format: Paperback
This is the second crossover event in the Marvel Star Wars comics. It brings the ongoing Doctor Aphra and Star Wars series together. I liked the pairing of Luke with Aphra. They play well off of each other with Luke's naive goodness and Aphra's experienced gray morality. I liked when she called him a wannabe padawan. There are some well designed characters in this comic. The residents of the Screaming Citadel have a goth bdsm vibe. Luke even gets to dress up. I liked seeing him in something different. I want to know more about Sana and Aphra's past!!! Please, Marvel, make a queer love story prequel!!! The murder droids are wonderful. Having them on the same side as the "good guys" for at least the time being led to some funny situations. The last panel intrigued me. I give this graphic novel a 4/5. I am always here for more Doctor Aphra!

    Excellent mini series.
    Format: Kindle
This is an excellent follow up to Vader Down. Luke Skywalker and friends take on a bigger threat than The Empire and Darth Vader that is connected to the Jedi. Luke and Dr. Aphra join forces to find the answers Like is seeking. Truly worth reading and entertaining.
