ABOUT THE BOOK:

It’s the spring of 2009 in Deer Valley, Wisconsin, and with the crack of a screen door, twenty-year-old Emily Schmidt’s life is about to change.

Born and raised and still living in The Honky Tonk, her dad’s flagging tavern, Emily’s tired of the patrons’ same old conversations, the jukebox’s same old sad songs, and her dad’s same old drunken tirades. Loyal, but lonely and struggling with an unsettling incident with one of the regulars, she’s secretly planning to pursue her own dreams – like her high school classmates who’ve scattered across the Midwest and Jacob Larsen, the young man passing through on his way to Door County. But when her world falls apart and she’s nowhere left to turn, Emily journeys across the state in search of work, questioning everything she thought she knew about family, friendship, and love.

Hired on the spot at The Schooner, a restaurant on the shore of Lake Michigan, she embarks on a summer she never expected, filled with colorful relationships and unforgettable experiences that force her to grow in ways she never imagined, heal in ways she never knew she needed, and face the unrelenting shadows of the past.

Muddled Cherries is an evocative coming-of-age story about the gravitational power of family, inextricable bonds of sisterhood, and the endless possibilities that arise when you find your own voice, your own way.

Puppy and price approved!
Style: Latex Surpise Color, Size: 6"
Great cheap little dog toys! Our 11 month large breed 90lb puppy loves to toss these around and squeak them between his teeth.. they eventually break down but that’s okay, at the low price of a couple to a few dollars each they make it affordable. They put some stuffing inside so it makes it slippery when our pup is nibbling on it. Funny enough these last longer than much more expensive toys that claim more durability! In 8 months we’ve gone through 2. That’s pretty good! Not chew resistant, but the latex offers a texture and squeak that I find makes our puppy go easier on them. Cute and easily packable.

Style: Plush Surprise Color, Size: 24"
My two Labradors make quick work of these. They love them. But Not very durable. Stuffing everywhere.

Our dog loves them
Style: Latex Surpise Color, Size: 6"
Not for every type of dog, but our dog LOVES these things. Try one and see how it goes. They are cheap, so no great loss if your dog doesn't like it, But if it does, you'll have a great time with them. Best $3 I could spend

Tie a Knot in it if it rips
Style: Plush Surprise Color, Size: 6", Style: Plush Surprise Color, Size: 6"
My puppy split the middle belly seam in about 5 minutes of spirited play with the white foam and squeak assembly scattered about, but he loves these loofa toys - goes nuts for them. Went through a couple of the little $3 ones so I tried this big one which he ripped apart. But I tied a knot in the middle of it over the ripped part and guess what, it's better than before. He loves the whipping the big knot around. The part where it ripped was where they filled it I think but the rest of the stitching is really quite solid. Takes a beating, to a point. The little ones lasted a reasonable time before they were totally played.

Do research
Size: Small
My pups love to shred things. This was a good toy for them to satisfy their need to shred things. My dogs are on the smaller side and I went with a small. I do encourage people to do their research and not leave this toy unsupervised. If your dog eats toys they shred this might not be a good toy for you. Coconut fiber can become impacted if too much is consumed. Unlike other reviewers I didn’t notice to much of a mess outside any other toy a dog might shred.
