The Tamiya 1/35 Russian T-62A Tank (35108) reproduces the main Soviet MBT of the late Cold War era — the T-62 that introduced the world's first 115mm smoothbore tank gun to service in 1961. The T-62 saw extensive combat service in the Middle East wars of 1967 and 1973, and was the backbone of Soviet and Warsaw Pact armoured forces before the T-72 replaced it. Its combination of armour and firepower made it a formidable opponent for contemporary Western tanks.
