The Tamiya 1/35 U.S. Marine M60A1 Tank (35157) reproduces the M60A1 in US Marine Corps service — the version fitted with the distinctive RISE (Reliability Improved Selected Equipment) package and the unique USMC modifications including the ERA (Explosive Reactive Armour) blocks added for the Gulf War deployment. The M60A1 served as the Marines' main battle tank through the Cold War, and in Desert Storm it fought alongside Abrams tanks in the liberation of Kuwait despite being technically outclassed by its Army counterpart.
Tamiya's 1/35 kit captures the M60A1's characteristic turret, 105mm gun, and USMC equipment with accurate detail.
Kit highlights:
- Accurate M60A1 in USMC configuration with ERA armour
- 105mm M68 gun and distinctive M60 turret shape
- RISE package and USMC Desert Storm equipment
- USMC marking options for Gulf War deployment
- An interesting Cold War/Gulf War USMC armour subject
Please note: Cement and paints required, sold separately.
