Old Forester Birthday Bourbon 2024 Edition is a remarkable release, aged for 12 years and bottled at an impressive 53.5% ABV. This special edition was meticulously selected by master distiller emeritus Chris Morris and master taster Melissa Rift, with the expertise of assistant master distiller Caleb Trigo, showcasing a blend from a total of 209 barrels. Originating from the historic Old Forester distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, this bourbon stands as a tribute to the legacy of craftsmanship and innovation that the brand is known for.
The aroma of this bourbon offers a captivating bouquet of apricot, apple, spice cake, and sweet tobacco, setting the stage for a complex tasting experience. Upon tasting, the palate reveals toasted oak and warming cinnamon spice, creating a symphony of flavors that dance harmoniously. The mahogany-hued sipper entices with freshly-picked stone fruit notes, including nectarines, sliced pluots, and over-ripened apricots, while the 107-proof strength of the bourbon delivers an assertive kick that bourbon enthusiasts crave.
With each sip, the rich mouthfeel envelops the palate, presenting a unique walnut-like oiliness that enhances the overall experience. The prominent flavors of warming cinnamon spice, molasses, and a hint of tobacco box emerge, providing a depth that makes this expression truly memorable. Best enjoyed neat or with a splash of water to open up its intricate layers, the Old Forester Birthday Bourbon 2024 Edition is an exquisite choice for collectors and connoisseurs alike, encapsulating the essence of bourbon excellence.
