Description
The Denafrips Arcas is a high-end, pure audio streamer for discerning listeners, featuring a custom streamer module, proprietary OS, and premium components like OCXOs for precise timing, designed to deliver exceptional sound quality with low noise and jitter for network music streaming via protocols like Roon, HQPlayer NAA, Airplay, and DLNA. It offers versatile outputs, including dual I2S/AES/EBU, and is built with a robust aluminum chassis, making it a high-performance source for digital audio systems. Get this amazing Streamer now from the official dealer of Denafrips in Bangladesh, Gears for Ears today with an official 1 year warranty.
The Foundation of Good Sound
At the heart of the ARCAS is a massive 80VA O-Core Shielded Transformer, handcrafted in-house by DENAFRIPS engineers using UPOCC copper. This oversized power source feeds a multi-stage linear power supply, ensuring the streamer receives a stable, low-noise current for optimal performance.
The digital architecture is driven by a custom-developed Quad-Core ARM Cortex Processor running a tailored Operating System (OS) optimized for a "euphoric" sound profile. Signal integrity is further protected by:
-
FPGA Processing: Advanced FIFO buffering and reclocking.
-
Precision Timing: A hand-picked OCXO (Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator) for superior timing accuracy.
-
Galvanic Isolation: High-speed opto-couplers safeguard digital signals from interference.
Versatile Connectivity & Architecture
The ARCAS is designed to fit seamlessly into any high-end ecosystem, enclosed in a robust anodized aluminum chassis available in silver or black. It balances modern convenience with audiophile-grade outputs:
-
Streaming Protocols: Supports Roon Bridge (Roon Ready pending), HQPlayer NAA, Airplay, and DLNA.
-
Storage Flexibility: High-quality playback from USB drives, SD cards, or Network Attached Storage (NAS).
-
Premium Outputs: Features Dual I2S and Dual AES/EBU outputs for uncompromised transmission to external DACs.
Enhanced Features for the Ultimate Setup
To reach the pinnacle of audio reproduction, the ARCAS offers specialized synchronization and interface options:
-
I2S Excellence: The standout I2S connection allows for a direct, high-fidelity link to flagship DACs like the DENAFRIPS VENUS II.
-
Master Clock Inputs: Equipped with dual external master clock inputs, the ARCAS can be synchronized with the DENAFRIPS Terra or Aether clocks, or the clock outputs of the Terminator II/Plus DACs. This synchronization leverages the stability of external oscillators for a more refined and accurate playback experience.
From its non-switched AC mains socket to the intricate digital isolation, every engineering choice in the ARCAS reflects a relentless pursuit of audio perfection.
Specifications:
ARCAS Streamer
- Proprietary Streamer Module developed by DENAFRIPS
- Tailored Operating System (OS) optimized for sound quality
- UPOCC O-Core Transformer, Low Noise LDO Power Supply
- OCXO Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillators 45.1548MHz, 49.152Mhz
Limitation(s):
- The Android-exclusive app is currently under development and lacks the responsiveness and user-friendliness seen in popular streaming platforms on the market. Consequently, the playback experience for local files is basic and rudimentary.
- The DLNA streaming capability is presently restricted to 16-bit/44.1kHz. There are intentions to enhance this feature, but a specific date for this update has not been confirmed yet.
- As a result, we strongly suggest the Arcas streamer for individuals using Roon.
