Two very different doll worlds mingle in a delightful melange at Theriault's catalog auction in Atlanta, Georgia. There is, on the one hand, the sophisticated world of Parisian dolls, chic, fashionable, and oh, so beautiful from the luxury doll boutique of Au Nain Bleu. And then there is the world of plain and simple, highlighted by a fine private collection of Ella Smith cloth dolls from the little town of Roanoke, Alabama. This will not be the first time these dolls from different worlds have competed for attention. A century ago, at the end of the 19th century, each prospered, likely unknown to each other, but each of stellar quality. Over 300 dolls are included in this fabulous auction.
