Moody, dramatic, and undeniably striking, New York Night is part of the Honeymoon® Series — a collection of hellebores bred by Hans Hansen for exceptional vigor, abundant blooms, and rich, unforgettable color. These 1-gallon, well-established plants produce an impressive display of single flowers measuring 2½–3 inches, with deep, inky tones ranging from charcoal and grey-purple to jet black and black-purple.

Blooming in late winter, New York Night delivers weeks of bold color just as the garden begins to wake. Hellebores are true harbingers of spring, often flowering for six weeks or more, and are commonly known as Lenten Rose for their traditional bloom time during the season of Lent.

This variety is especially well-suited for naturalizing in moist, woodland settings, where its extensive root system can slowly spread and establish over time. Like all hellebores, it’s evergreen, deer-resistant, and easy to grow, thriving in part to full shade and returning reliably year after year.
