The Head and the Heart is the self-titled debut album from Seattle folk-rock band The Head and the Heart, originally self-released in 2010 before being picked up and re-issued by Sub Pop in 2011. Built around harmonious vocals, piano, violin, and folk-rock instrumentation, the album captures themes of connection, wanderlust, and introspection across tracks like “Lost in My Mind,” “Down in the Valley,” and “Rivers and Roads.” Over time the debut was certified Gold by the RIAA, reflecting more than 500,000 units sold — a notable achievement for a band that began as a local favourite. The success of the debut launched The Head and the Heart into extensive touring and larger festival stages, laying the foundation for their subsequent albums and a dedicated fanbase."

Do I love it? Yes. Is it well made? It certainly appears to be. Is the leather thick? Yes, I’d say definitely thick and sturdy. Do I like the color (Bootlegger Brown)? Of course I do, it’s gorgeous. It seems very well made. The corners are secured with black fasteners, which I think are going to better than the buttons in the long run that I’ve seen on others. It’s was this brand, or Hide and Drink for me. I went with these guys because it’s U.S. made, and hopefully American sourced leather. I bought the Large. My concern was that the XL might be too large for my nightstand. I measured it out and everything. However, I was not counting on the length and width to be measured from the end of the pinched corners, so I was a little disappointed about the size of the useable surface area. It’s not a big deal, but I wish that I’d have just spent the extra $5 and got the XL. If I we’re to get another, I definitely go with the XL unless you just want something on the smallish side, but still I suspect that they are larger that what most others are offering. At least these guys give you a choice of options.
