Installation Tips

Installing titanium hardware requires a slightly different approach than steel to ensure longevity and prevent "galling."

  • Always Use Anti-Seize: Apply a high-quality anti-seize lubricant to all titanium threads before installation. This prevents the threads from locking or seizing over time.

  • Clean the Threads: Ensure the receiving threads on the transmission/chassis are free of debris, old Loctite, or corrosion before starting.

  • Hand Start: Always start the bolts by hand to ensure they are properly aligned before using a wrench.

  • Torque to Spec: Follow your vehicle manufacturer’s torque specifications for the transmission cross brace. While titanium is incredibly strong, proper tension is key to drivetrain safety.

  • What is PVD? Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) is a vacuum coating process used to produce a high-performance thin-film finish. Often used in aerospace and high-end electronics, it provides a surface that is harder and more corrosion-resistant than traditional painting or plating.

Color: Orange_L Hooks, Size: X-Large
I’ve purchased and used these hooks to hang beach chairs on two different occasions. They are very sturdy and their protective covering prevents damaging the chairs.

Excellent Tool For Drilling Shelf Pin Holes
I had a project where I was extending the depth of the bottom half of a bookcase I had made out of pre-drilled MDF from Home Depot. The original bookcase was 11" deep x 10' high. The extended depth of the bottom is to be used to hold audio gear and needed to be 18" depth, front to rear. I was able to increase the depth but had to insert additional panels on the left and right so that shelf pins could be installed. I needed a shelf pin jig to do that, and this jig was perfect for the job. After completing my holes and mounting some shelves I was pleased that the alignment with the inner portion of the shelf was perfect and the distance between holes lined up exactly as with the original panels from Home Depot. The jig is high quality fabricated aluminum, not plastic, and it comes with two drill bits, and stop and Allen wrench, including an instruction manual, all in an attractive plastic case. The jig is well worth the modest price and I would definitely recommend it for drilling shelf clip holes.
