Don't Fire Your Church Members The Case for CongregationalismChurch membership is not just a status, its an office. Church membership is not just a status, it’s an office. Leaders shouldn’t fire members from the responsibilities given to them by Jesus—they should train them! When members are trained, the church grows in holiness and love, discipleship and mission. Complacency and nominalism are diminished. Jesus gives every church member an office in the church’s government: to assume final responsibility for guarding the what and the who of the gospel in the church and its ministry. Similarly, Jesus gives leaders to the church for equipping the members to do this church-building and mission-accomplishing work. In our day, the tasks of reinvigorating congregational authority and elder authority must work together. The vision of congregationalism pictured in this book offers an integrated view of the Christian life. Congregationalism is biblical, but biblical congregationalism just might look a little different than you expect. It is nothing less than Jesus’ authorization for living out his kingdom rule among a people on mission.

______________

Jonathan Leeman (Ph.D., Wales) is an elder at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, DC and the editorial director for 9Marks. He edits the 9Marks series of books as well as the 9Marks Journal. He is also the author of several books on the church, including The Church and the Surprising Offense of God’s Love. Jonathan lives with his wife and four daughters in suburban Washington.

______________

Jonathan, as always, leads us to think deeper about ecclesiology than almost anyone in the history of the church ever. He is clear, precise, and even honest with gray matters. He will force you to think through what it means for the church to wield the "keys of the Kingdom" and all of its implications. He paints a beautiful picture of how eldership and congregationalism go hand in hand, as well as raises the level of seriousness for why every Christian must submit to and exercise authority within the local church. This book is a valuable contribution to the Kingdom of Christ and the conversation on local church matters. Todd Morikawa

Recently Learned I Was In Early Stage Dementia
Format: Paperback
As my hubby and I had read Gary Chapman's The Five Love Languages and it was helpful to us, when I saw this book I couldn't resist. He writes a very thorough book about a husband and wife facing this dreaded condition. He gives suggestions on how to lovingly handle many of the irritating, annoying, not so nice and some dreaded situations that may be a problem between a husband and wife , by using examples of couples that have gone through these situations and how they handled it. And also gave his opinion on things that were done lovingly by the spouse who chooses to be the caretaker, or how it could've ended in a kinder, more loving, less detrimental way. I would recommend this book to ALL couples facing this disease that no one wants, and for all couples who wish to end the marriage on a better note v.s. exhaustion and relief ,when the affected spouse that has this diagnoses, finally passes.

Seems high quality, makes a good treat.
Pattern Name: Strip, Size: 3 Ounce (Pack of 1)
It's expensive, and I won't buy again most likely as I use Honest Kitchen Fish Wolfskin large chews daily to keep my dogs teeth clean (saves thousands on dentals at the vet) however, my dogs love this treat and gobble it up when offered. I was hoping it would last longer and work as teeth cleaners like the wolfskin fish chews do. Nevertheless it's a high quality food treat, and maybe I will buy again just for the occasional treat. I don't give my dogs a lot of treats much to their chagrin, but they are also not overweight either. It's not fattening and has no carbohydrates and it's not ultra-processed. I would recommend this as a treat.
