Anubias on Lava Rock Live Tropical Plant Single

Anubias (various varieties supplied at random) attached to Lava Rock - a colourful decorative piece for your aquarium fish tank. Anubias is typically found in shady marshes, streams and riverbanks. Average lava rock size per piece is around 10cm / 3-5". Supplied at random similar to photo.

Anubias is a hardy broad-leafed plant ideal for a tropical aquarium. The roots form on a creeping rhizome. In aquariums, these plants grow best when the rhizome is attached to rocks, driftwood or other decorative substrate. A coat of algae may form on the leaves, which is ideal for algae grazing species such as shrimp or plecos.

Because of its thick leather-like leaves, the slow-growing Anubias is ideal for fish tanks with cichlids or other fishes that would not otherwise be candidates for a planted aquarium. The hardy dark green leaves provide a nice contrast to other plants in the aquarium.


Substrate
Use potted or attach to driftwood or rocks or similar. Burying the roots in substrate is not recommended.

Water conditions
pH: 6.0 – 8.0 soft to moderately hard
Temperature: 22 – 26 °C

Ease of care
Easy. Fertilise regularly. CO2 isn't required however you can use a plant booster for a faster growth rate. Leaves may aquire a layer of algae if kept in a heavily fertilised environment.

Lighting
Low to medium lighting is sufficient.
