In 1992, George Lucas expanded the Indiana Jones saga to television with The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, a lavishly produced series filmed in eleven countries. This groundbreaking show followed Indy’s life at three stages: as a curious child (Corey Carrier), an adventurous teenager (Sean Patrick Flanery), and as an older man reflecting on his escapades (George Hall).
Throughout his journeys, young Indy encountered some of history’s most iconic figures, from Pancho Villa and Sigmund Freud to Thomas Edison, Lawrence of Arabia, Norman Rockwell, George Patton, and Teddy Roosevelt. Alongside his loyal friend Remy (Ronny Coutteure), Indy embarked on thrilling adventures while occasionally crossing paths with his parents (Lloyd Owen and Ruth DeSosa). Even Harrison Ford made a special appearance in 1993, reprising his role as Indiana Jones at age 50.
This DVD collection presents the series in a unique format created in 1996, when George Lucas re-edited the episodes into twenty-two feature-length films, now titled The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones. These chapters are arranged chronologically, and while the original episodes’ framing device of an older Indy reminiscing has been removed, Harrison Ford’s 1950 portrayal remains in Chapter 20: Mystery of the Blues.
