This necklace was created by using a combination of glass fusing techniques. The rocky glass used for the ocean floor was cut from a piece of glass I created out of frit and clear glass. The item listed is a fused glass necklace that was handcrafted in my studio in Washington, NJ.
This necklace was created by using a combination of glass fusing techniques. The rocky glass used for the ocean floor was cut from a piece of glass I created out of frit and clear glass. All the glass was cut and layered before being heated in a kiln to a full fuse. After the first full fuse, it was capped and put back in for another full fuse.
After the first two firings, the piece was then cut using a ring saw and sanded on a grinder. It was then put back in the kiln for a fire polish to give the piece a smooth shine. After that, a black enamel silhouette was fired onto the piece at a low fire fuse.
This necklace is approximately 1 inch X 2 inches and includes a 18 inch silver plated snake chain. It will ship in a lovely gift box with an organza ribbon.
