The Ortofon T‑20 is a high-performance, passive step-up transformer designed to pair low-output moving-coil (MC) cartridges with standard moving-magnet (MM) phono inputs. Manufactured in Denmark, it accommodates cartridge impedances from 2–10 Ω, delivering approximately 32 dB of gain to a 47 kΩ/100–300 pF phono load. Built around a toroidal copper-wound transformer with Mu-metal shielding, it features a rugged, fully shielded chassis and offers clean, noise-free amplification without requiring external power.
