MRF VK18 Genius Grand Master English Willow Cricket Bat
🏏 Handcrafted Grade 1 English willow: Each bat is hand‑selected and finely handcrafted in India to ensure straight grains and outstanding durability.
🏏 Clean, minimalist finish: Minimal stickers let the natural willow grain shine and keep the overall weight in check.
🏏 Mid‑to‑low swell with duckbill profile: This design shifts the centre of mass toward the hitting zone, creating an expansive sweet spot while maintaining a light pickup.
🏏 Thick edges for power: Substantial edges enhance stability and power transfer at impact, giving players confidence on both front‑ and back‑foot shots.
🏏 Semi‑oval handle: The semi‑oval short handle improves grip comfort, encourages correct hand alignment and aids control through each stroke.
🏏 Engineered for advanced players: Blends premium materials and modern shaping techniques to deliver a bat that offers both raw power and refined control.
🏏 Maintain your willow bat: Proper care and maintenance are essential to preserve the performance and lifespan of an English willow cricket bat—see our maintenance guide for details.
What distinguishes the MRF Genius Grand Master from other VK 18 bats? The Grand Master edition focuses on a "clean, minimalist" design philosophy. It utilizes a pronounced duckbill profile to shift the center of mass, offering a lighter pickup and more refined control compared to the sheer bulk of the standard Grand Edition, while still maintaining thick edges for power.
What grade of willow is the Grand Master made from? This bat is crafted from Handcrafted Grade 1 English Willow. The "Grand Master" selection process prioritizes clefts with straight grains and a clean face, using minimal stickers to allow the natural quality of the wood to be the primary visual feature.
What is the sweet spot and profile shape? The bat features a mid-to-low swell which creates an expansive sweet spot in the hitting zone. This is paired with a duckbill toe profile that removes bulk from the very bottom, ensuring the bat feels light in the hands for quick reaction shots.
Is the MRF Genius Grand Master ready to play? No, despite being an advanced player's bat, it is made from natural English Willow and requires preparation. We recommend a full manual knocking-in process with a mallet and oiling to compress the fibers and ensure the thick edges are durable enough for match play.
