This is one of my original mixed media artworks on heavyweight 425 GSM watercolour paper, created using watercolour, India ink, charcoal, gouache, and layered finishing details.

Sea turtles are a subject I’m continually drawn to, symbols of calm, endurance, and connection to the ocean. In this piece, I wanted to capture not just the form of the turtle, but a sense of movement, life, and light.

I often play with matte and gloss surfaces so the artwork changes as light moves across it. Subtle highlights of gloss, silver, gold, and white details catch the light differently throughout the day, creating a flicker and vibrancy across the turtle’s shell and body. It gives the surface a living quality, as though light is dancing on water.

This is a one of a kind original artwork, not a reproduction or print. Every mark is hand created, making the piece entirely unique.
