Jin Xuan is named after the Jin Xuan tree, which was cultivated in Taiwan and became popular after 1981, when Jin Xuan Oolong was intensively promoted by government. The tea is also known as #12 or "Milky Oolong" (Nai Xiang Oolong).

Jin Xuan is half fermented tea, the color of the broth is closer to yellow honey color, it is darker than the color of high mountain oolongs or Pouchong. The unique feature of Jin Xuan is light milky aroma with floral notes. This flavor can be achieved by natural way, however, there are many milky oolongs now that are produced by adding artificial flavorings, what results in a very strong and straight milky aroma. Those oolongs would have chemical flavor, their milky taste would disappear after first-second brew, not mentioning it might be harmful for one’s health. Therefore, we want to emphasize that our Jin Xuan Oolong’s milky flavor is not very obvious, but rather delicate and sophisticated.

Our Jin Xuan Oolong is characterised by natural light milky aroma and pleasant malt aftertaste. During the first and second brew the one can also enjoy the floral notes with gentle tropical fruits fragrance. The tea is suitable for hot and cold brew.

金萱(台茶12號)，以台農八號作母本，硬枝紅心作父本，茶改場人工育種而成的第一代。與翠玉(台茶13號)都是經過四十多年的培育，由台灣省茶業改良場吳振鐸場長於1981年育成推廣，金萱、翠玉分別以吳振鐸場長祖母與母親之名命名。

適製半發酵茶，其茶湯呈蜜黃明亮，茶湯清甜，具有特殊的品種香，是類似桂花香或牛奶香，而其中又以牛奶香，最受大眾喜愛。我們金萱最主要是自然奶香味跟果香氣回甘。

金萱屬於清香型烏龍茶，所以在沖泡的時候，我們使用高溫沖泡，並且在45秒就將茶湯倒出，倒出來的同時整個空間就會充滿了金萱的花香味，品嘗的時候去享受金萱特有的牛奶氣味。熱泡跟冷泡金萱都適合用。每一種泡法有不同差的特色出來。歡迎大家多試驗。
