Uncommon Unity: Wisdom for the Church in an Age of DivisionOur world is facing increasing hostilities. Political and cultural differences rage, even among people who otherwise show goodwill. And the church is no stranger to extreme polarization, theological backbiting, and political squabbling. In Uncommon Unity:

Our world is facing increasing hostilities. Political and cultural differences rage, even among people who otherwise show goodwill. And the church is no stranger to extreme polarization, theological backbiting, and political squabbling. Jesus’s prayer in John 17—that the church be one as he and the Father are one—seems increasingly unattainable. But what if Scripture actually provides the key for thinking about unity in diversity? In Uncommon Unity: Wisdom for the Church in an Age of Division, Richard Lints explores the nature of diversity and how Christians can think more clearly about unity in an increasingly polarized age. Drawing on theological, historical, and sociological resources, Lints exposes problems with the inclusion narrative of democracy and shows a better way forward for fostering unity in the midst of extreme diversity. If we are to think rightly about diversity, wisdom is required for the church in our late modern world. Through wisdom, Christians can display real unity in diversity and bear witness of the God who made them for himself as diverse members of his one body. Readers of Uncommon Unity will be heartened that Scripture and Christian tradition provide an antidote to division.

______________

Richard Lints is senior consulting theologian, Redeemer City to City, New York City. He was formerly provost and Andrew Mutch Distinguished Professor of Theology at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. He is the author of Progressive and Conservative Religious Ideologies, Identity and Idolatry, and The Fabric of Theology.

______________

‘Confident that Christ’s kingdom out-narrates the distorted narratives of our age, Lints nevertheless recognizes that how we envision, tell and practice that story is conditioned by other stories we often just assume. Identifying and analyzing these different takes on unity and diversity for many years, he at last shares the fruit of his labors! Diving beneath the tiresome and polarizing rhetoric of the culture wars, this book gives us deeply informed, well-considered and timely insights that we desperately need.’ Michael Horton, Professor of Theology and Apologetics, Westminster Seminary California

It was the perfect suit for our big day!
Size: X-Small, Color: Purple, Size: X-Small, Color: Purple
Purple size xs. He's 5'9" 145-150lbs. Very impressed with this suit. The color and pattern is awesome. The fit was good. I would say this suit runs large. Usually he wears a Medium in everything but ordered an XS and it fit very well. The pants were long we had to get those hemmed. There was a few stray strings by the end of the night in areas of the suit. But overall good quality. And for a great price.

We were excited and I wanted to like it but...
Size: X-Small, Color: Black, Size: X-Small, Color: Black
We ordered this for Prom and it was supposed to be a size small, which was available for Prime ordering, but had to settle for xsmall. The pants, fortunately fit well and just need to be hemmed, the vest is great and the jacket is snug. My son has broad shoulders and I was hesitant to buy the xsmall, but it does fit just right. The only thing he would need to do is unbutton the jacket while he is dancing and maybe take it off while seated and eating dinner before prom. The material is surprisingly nice and has weight to it. I was relieved it isn't flimsy. The overall look on my son is smooth and we love the pattern and the material has shine to it. I was not happy that right out of the package, the button to the jacket could potentially fall off during because it doesn't look securely sewed in. The side of the right side of the jacket has thread already coming apart. And I found a little snag in a different location. I'm really not happy about that. I posted photos so you can see what I mean. We were excited about this suit, but it's going back. The company needs to do better with quality control.

Nice Pants
Got these for my son who is starting to need more professional clothing for work and he really likes them. We sized up since they are suit pants and glad that we did. They fit himn well and even with the sklim fit they aren't too tight due to us sizing up. They are nice and long (he is 6 foot) and fit him nicely. They have a little give so he can still ride his bike to work in them comfortably. They do have a little bit of a thin feel to them but so far that hasn't been an issue. Breathable and comfortable. Will likely purchase another pair for him.
