This large enamelware bowl is strong, ceramic bonded to steel is very tough stuff. But, like anything related to porcelain, this bowl may chip if it's dropped one too many times. Please don't worry if this happens though, any exposed steel will just oxidise, adding a touch of history and character to your bowl. If you really wanted you could cover the chip with a little food-safe varnish or similar - but we think a little wear and tear just makes the bowls look even better.

When enamelware finally wears out, after a long, long life - it can be fully recycled like any other steel item (not to worry the enamel coating doesn't affect a thing).
