Solid 150mg energy kick with CarnoSyn beta-alanine and that classic C4 vibe

C4 Original is a classic pre-workout that gives you moderate energy, basic endurance support, and a simple boost for your training sessions. It doesn't go all-out on every angle like some clinical-heavy formulas. The idea here is to hit you with quick effects from caffeine and CarnoSyn beta-alanine, add some brain support with N-acetyl-L-tyrosine, mucuna pruriens, and theacrine, and throw in old-school pump ingredients like creatine nitrate and arginine alpha-ketoglutarate. It's not maxed out—it's easy to jump into and makes your workout feel better right away.

The star is CarnoSyn beta-alanine at 1.6g. Beta-alanine is what your body uses to make carnosine, a compound in muscles that helps soak up acid during tough workouts. That's key for efforts lasting 1-10 minutes, where that burning feeling can slow you down. Studies usually look at 3.2-6.4g per day, so 1.6g is on the lighter side but still helps, especially if you add another dose later or use it every day. CarnoSyn is the top branded version with solid research behind it in sports supps.

You get 150mg of caffeine anhydrous, which puts this in the moderate stim zone. That's enough to feel more energy, quicker focus, and ready to go without the rough edges of 300mg+ doses. Theacrine is in there too, but the dose isn't listed. Studies show theacrine works on adenosine and dopamine paths to keep energy and drive going strong with caffeine. The downside is no dose info, so we can't check if it's at the studied level, but

Key Highlights

  • 150mg Caffeine Anhydrous — a real moderate dose you can feel without getting into the jittery high-stim world of today's pre-workouts. It ramps up alertness, energy, and that ready-to-train feeling, plus leaves room for your morning coffee if you want.
  • 1.6g CarnoSyn Beta-Alanine — the best part of this formula, way more than just a caffeine buzz. It builds up carnosine in your muscles over time, which fights off the acid that causes fatigue in high-rep sets or tough efforts.
  • CarnoSyn Branded Form — not some cheap generic, but the well-known trademarked version with tons of studies on beta-alanine's performance benefits. Branded stuff like this usually means better quality control than basic ingredients.
  • Creatine Nitrate at 1g — mixes a bit of creatine with nitrate for some blood flow help. It's not a full loading dose, but it makes this more than a straight energy drink, adding a performance edge.
  • Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate at 1g — an old-school ingredient for nitric oxide support and better pumps. It's light by today's standards, but it adds to that familiar pre-workout feel C4 is famous for.
  • N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine for Focus — this helps keep your brain sharp under workout stress by supporting key brain chemicals. Basically, it keeps you dialed in when things get intense.
  • Theacrine to Stretch the Energy — works on adenosine and dopamine to make the buzz smoother and longer-lasting with caffeine. Dose isn't listed, so we can't confirm if it's optimal, but it's there to upgrade the energy quality over just more caffeine.
  • Mucuna Pruriens Seed Extract — adds a mood and motivation boost from its L-DOPA content. It's a classic nootropic touch, though without the dose listed, it's hard to stack up against studies.

Who Is This For?

  • Intermediate lifters on push/pull/legs or upper/lower who need a reliable pre-workout a few times a week without heavy caffeine. 150mg gives a solid energy bump, and 1.6g CarnoSyn adds endurance that builds up.
  • After-work gym rats needing a mental boost without 300mg+ intensity. Caffeine and theacrine make for sustained drive, and the moderate stims are easier later in the day.
  • Beginner-to-intermediate folks wanting that classic pre-workout: energy, focus, and beta-alanine tingles. It's simple but uses branded CarnoSyn instead of junk fillers.
  • Hypertrophy fans focused on session quality and reps over massive pumps. Creatine nitrate and arginine AKG help blood flow, while caffeine and tyrosine keep things sharp.
  • People stepping down from high-stim stuff but still wanting a pre-workout feel. 150mg is moderate and keeps the ritual without overkill.
  • General fitness peeps doing circuits, accessories, or moderate cardio who want something straightforward. It's about feel and consistency, not max doses everywhere.

How to Use

Mix 1 scoop in 6-10 ounces of water and down it 20-30 minutes pre-workout. That lines up with caffeine kicking in before heavy sets. If you're new or stim-sensitive, try half a scoop first, since it's 150mg caffeine plus theacrine. Shaker beats stirring, especially in cold water. Take it on a light stomach—heavy food can slow the buzz, but a small meal an hour before is cool if you hate training empty. Don't stack with other stims unless you're tracking caffeine. Add 3-5g daily creatine separately, as the 1g nitrate here isn't full dose. No need to cycle beta-alanine, but some cycle pre-workouts to reset stim tolerance. Keep it sealed in a cool, dry spot for easy scooping.

What to Expect

Minutes 0-10: right after mixing, not much yet besides settling in. Minutes 10-20: that's when it starts—caffeine lifts your mood, and many feel the beta-alanine tingle from 1.6g CarnoSyn. Minutes 20-40: prime time for training, with peak energy, drive, and readiness from the caffeine-theacrine mix. Minutes 40-90: holds steady as a moderate stim, smoother than heavy hitters. Days 1-7: mostly feel the energy and focus, not huge endurance yet. Weeks 2-4: beta-alanine shines as carnosine builds, making hard sets feel better. Add daily creatine to round it out.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much caffeine is in C4 Original Pre-Workout?

This version provides 150mg caffeine anhydrous per serving. That places it in the moderate-stim category, offering a noticeable lift in energy and alertness without reaching the 300mg+ range common in harder-hitting pre-workouts.

Why do I feel tingling after taking C4 Original?

That sensation comes from the 1.6g CarnoSyn® beta-alanine. It is called paresthesia and is a normal, harmless effect for many users, especially when taken on an emptier stomach or all at once.

Is 1.6g of CarnoSyn® beta-alanine enough?

It is a meaningful dose, but it sits below the standard 3.2-6.4g daily range commonly used in research. You will still feel the ingredient acutely as tingling, but the full performance benefit depends on consistent daily intake and accumulates over time.

Does C4 Original contain creatine?

Yes. It contains 1g creatine nitrate per serving. That contributes some creatine and a nitrate component, but it is not enough by itself to fully saturate muscle creatine stores the way a separate 3-5g daily creatine monohydrate routine would.

Is this a good pre-workout for beginners?

Yes, for many beginners this is a more approachable option than extreme high-stim formulas. The 150mg caffeine dose is moderate, but new users should still start with half a scoop to assess tolerance, especially because the formula also includes theacrine.

How long before training should I take C4 Original?

Take it about 20-30 minutes before your workout. That window works well for caffeine absorption and gives the energy and focus ingredients time to become noticeable before your first hard sets.

Can I stack C4 Original with creatine monohydrate?

Yes, and that is one of the smartest ways to use this formula. Because C4 Original only provides 1g creatine nitrate, adding 3-5g daily creatine monohydrate fills the gap for full creatine saturation and better long-term support for strength and power.

Does this formula have a proprietary blend?

No proprietary blend is declared on the formula information provided here. However, some ingredients such as N-acetyl-L-tyrosine, mucuna pruriens extract, and theacrine do not have disclosed amounts, so transparency is improved versus a full blend but not perfect.

Is C4 Original mainly a pump pre-workout?

No. It includes 1g creatine nitrate and 1g arginine alpha-ketoglutarate for some blood-flow support, but this is primarily an energy-and-endurance style pre-workout built around caffeine and CarnoSyn® beta-alanine.

Can I use C4 Original every training day?

Yes, most users can use it on each training day if overall stimulant intake is managed responsibly. In fact, regular use makes more sense for the beta-alanine component because muscle carnosine builds over time with consistent intake.

Fallen Angels, fae, vampires, oh my!
Format: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 | Spice: 2 (but a good slow-burn) • Main Characters: Huntyr and Wolf • I couldn’t wait to read this book; there was so much hype about it! And there was no doubt why. I fell in love with the characters and the plot itself. This book is mainly plot driven more than friction driven but it’s easy to follow along with. The characters are fun, easily understood. The main setting is at an academy where both the main characters are going through trials and building strength for the final test, The Transcendent. There are fantastic side characters as well. I loved the camaraderie between Huntyr and her friends. But we don’t like Lanson. 😆 We do have some plot twists that come into play throughout the book. Secrets and betrayal to be seen. I did adore Wolf and Huntyr’s relationship. It was a classic slow burn trope. They didn’t hit it off fast, but in time their feelings grew. I loved their banter, so sexy. Wolf is your next book boyfriend; Huntyr is your next vampire assassin independent bad-a*s female. Themes include loyalty, trust, self-discovery, a true slow burn romance. Side note: book ends on a angsty cliffhanger! • Emily, thank you for writing this awesome novel and I cannot wait to devour Book 2, Blood So Brutal! 😍 • Happy reading, my lovelies! xo

“My heart bows to you and you only, Huntress.”
Format: Kindle
3.5 🌟 This book popped up in my KU recommended reading suggestions and the synopsis sounded like what I was in the mood for. I'm so glad I took a chance on it. I went into this knowing absolutely nothing about it and ended up really liking it. I love when this happens. The main characters are likeable and I easily found myself rooting for them. There is a mystery element to each of their backstories that I enjoyed watching unfold and can't wait to get more of. Wolf, in particular, has me fixated. Love him. I found this to be an entertaining, addictive read with a plot that moves along at a good pace. It reads so easily I found myself very reluctant to put it down. Lots of twists and turns and the angst is there. A good set up for the next book to come, for sure. My issues with this book....the dialogue feels a bit juvenile at times and there is a repetitive over use of a particular word phrasing that I found myself giving the ole eye-roll to. There are, without a doubt, some pretty cliche moments that gave me a bit of the cringe. I think this could've certainly 100% benefited from more depth regarding the world building. Perhaps the world building was sacrificed to keep the pacing quick? Just a guess. Also, the lack of consistency of character for the FMC was really evident and so she feels quite illogical at times. Overall, this was a fun and enjoyable read that hit the spot well enough for me. That ending certainly has me impatiently pining for book 2!

Interesting take on the genre
Format: Kindle
True rating: 3.25 ⭐️ I enjoyed the fresh take on the genre. The best way I could describe the setting and world is an apocalyptic dystopian version of Farie where vampires, fae, and angles struggle to survive in what is left of the world. It was definitely interesting throwing the academy/hunger games aspect into this world as well. Even though I guessed the final reveal early on in the book, I kept hoping I was wrong, and it would take a surprising turn. While the "plot twists" were a bit predictable to me, I still enjoyed the ride this book took me on. Another downfall for me was the plot holes in the world building... I.E. if society has fallen and the world is in the aftermath of war, how are there trains running around the world? Just to take young adults to the trials to get into the golden city? How is the train maintained, the tracks clear, etc? However, I did enjoy the FMC & MMC and thought they were fleshed out nicely. I also enjoyed the side characters but wish some were developed more like Ashalin (sp?). I do find myself rooting for the MCs to succeed and find happiness together, which is obviously an important aspect for romantasy. Overall, was this an earth-shattering, mind-bending, terrific piece of literature? No. But was it the worst thing I've read this year? Also, no. This book has, to me, the bones of a great read & just needs a bit more to push it from an alright book to a great book. Overall ratings: Plot- 3.5⭐️ World building 3⭐️ Spice 2.5 🌶🌶 Main characters 4 ⭐️ Supporting characters 3.5⭐️

great book
Format: Kindle
I am really excited to meet the author at the book retreat this month. I really enjoyed this world that she built and most of the female main character Huntress is so awesome. She goes through a lot in this book and the ending; wow! I wouldn't have even guessed. I highly recommend everyone to read this book. I have been so lucky this year that almost all the books I have read have been, so far, 5 out 5 stars.

Fallen for the Fallen Angel – A Guilty Pleasure Worth Every Page
Format: Kindle
There’s something deeply irresistible about a dark academia or trial-based setting, a brooding and arrogant fallen angel, and a fierce heroine with enough sass to go toe-to-toe with him. Wings So Wicked is exactly that kind of book—and I devoured it in just a couple of days. To be fair, the plot isn’t groundbreaking. If you’re looking for something fresh and innovative in terms of storyline, this might not be it. But if your reader heart beats faster at the mere mention of enemies-to-lovers, jealousy-fueled banter, magical trials, betrayals, and forbidden tension—you’ll feel right at home. It’s like catnip for those of us with this particular weakness. The chemistry between the leads could have used a slightly slower burn to make the tension sizzle longer, but I still found myself completely invested in their dynamic. There are moments and phrases that feel a bit cheesy or underdeveloped, but honestly? I didn’t care. The vibes were exactly what I wanted. This book isn’t trying to reinvent the genre—it’s here to give readers like me what we crave: high-stakes magical drama, angsty romance, and the thrill of watching a badass girl and her brooding counterpart clash and spark. If that sounds like your kind of story, Wings So Wicked will hit the mark. Here’s hoping Book 2 turns up the heat and keeps the magic alive.
