Honduras leads Central America in per capita coffee production, a testament to its small yet thriving coffee industry that began in the 18th century and gained prominence in the 20th century. Despite challenges like Hurricane Mitch in 1998 and coffee leaf rust in 2010, the industry has shown resilience, bolstered by the Instituto Hondureño del Café (IHCAFE). Established in 1970, IHCAFE supports producers through research, resistant coffee varieties, and access to premium international markets, ensuring high-quality yields and economic stability for many, especially during crises like the 2009 financial downturn.

In the Lodoza, El Paraíso region, the Padilla family’s Finca Expreso Paraiseño, founded in 2019, exemplifies Honduras’ dedication to quality coffee production. The farm leverages the area’s rich soils and ideal climate, employing sustainable practices like intercropping to enhance soil health. Led by Javier Padilla, the farm focuses on growing exceptional coffee while preserving the surrounding environment, with plans to cultivate premium varietals like Gesha and expand cultivation areas to further elevate quality.

The coffee production process at Finca Expreso Paraiseño is meticulous, ensuring consistency and excellence. Handpicked cherries are sorted, pulped, and fermented for 12–48 hours at a nearby wet mill, then dried to the ideal moisture content using solar and mechanical dryers. With a commitment to continuous improvement, the farm aims to enhance processing facilities, such as adding more sun-drying patios, to maintain its high standards. The result is a premium coffee that reflects the passion and innovation of Honduras’ young, forward-thinking producers.

Very versatile coffee. Recommended for espresso, drip, pourover and cold brew coffee.

Well made and perform well, a little constricting
Size: Medium, Color: Black Assortment (6-pairs)
These socks definitely keep most of the moisture away from my feet, even in wet conditions, which is why I bought them. I am diabetic, though, and the recommendation is to wear socks that don't constrict at any point. These have a tight band around the opening that while it is not uncomfortable on, leaves a mark when I take them off. So far it's been ok, but if you have any kind of swelling in your feet or ankles these would probably not be the best. My foot measures size 8 and I wear size 9 Brooks running shoes. The socks fit me just right but based on the size of the opening and the overall length, I wouldn't think they would fit anyone more than a size larger. Overall well made and perform well as you would expect from this brand.
